The Maria Island Walk is recognised as one of Australia’s outstanding walking experiences. Set in a beautiful island national park, this four day walk is a delightful blend of rare wildlife, convict heritage and elegant accommodation. Experience the fresh air, the crystal clear waters and the breathtaking beauty. Explore pristine beaches and ancient forests. Small groups of just 10 guests and two guides enjoy gentle walking by day and candlelit gourmet dining at night.

The Maria Island Walk itinerary:

Day 1: Hobart to Maria Island. Walking for the day is approximately 4 kilometres. Overnight at Casuarina Beach Camp.

Day 2: Exploring Maria Island, Riedle Bay and Bloodstone Point. Walking for the day is approximately 13 kilometres. Overnight at White Gums Camp.

Day 3: Exploring Maria Island, Hopgrounds Beach and the Painted Cliffs. Walking for the day is approximately 9 kilometres. Overnight in a historic colonial home at Bernacchi House.

Day 4: Maria Island to Hobart. Walking for the day is approximately 4 kilometres.

Explore some of Tasmania's most iconic east coast regions by foot and by sea. On this four day itinerary, visit the Freycinet Peninsula and Maria Island. Travel by sailboat from one stunning Tasmanian walking destination to another. As each walk is optional, you may elect to stay on board the yacht Lady Eugenie to relax, or choose to explore the beach, snorkel or swim at your leisure. Each night retire to the uncomplicated luxury of Lady Eugenie where your guides will prepare a spectacular dinner served with a selection of Tasmanian wine; or enjoy the relaxed surrounds of a barefoot beach dinner under the stars.

Wineglass Bay Sail Walk itinerary:

Day 1: Hobart to Maria Island including Bishop and Clerk. Walking for the day is approximately 12 kilometres, 4 to 5 hours. Stay the next 3 nights on board Lady Eugenie.

Day 2: Maria Island to Schouten Island including Bear Hill. Walking for the day is approximately 6 kilometres, 3 to 4 hours.

Day 3: Schouten Island to Wineglass Bay via Cooks Beach and either Hazards Beach or Mt Graham. Walking for the day is approximately 9 kilometres, 5 to 7 hours.

Day 4: Wineglass Bay to Hobart. Walking for the day is approximately 5 kilometres, 3 hours.

PRICES AND CONDITIONSPrices in this brochure are valid for travel from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016, unless otherwise specified. Prices are in New Zealand Dollars, unless otherwise specified, and include local tax where applicable.

All prices are provided as a guide only, are subject to availability at time of booking and may be withdrawn or vary due to currency fluctuations or at any time up to 30 days before your departure if any new government surcharges, fees or taxes are introduced or if any existing surcharges, fees or taxes are varied.

If we have to change any part of your booking for reasons beyond our control, for example, an Accommodation Supplier overbooks accommodation, or if there is an increase in taxes or Supplier charges, we will notify you. If any such changes result in your holiday costing more or otherwise being materially different from that originally booked, then you may cancel the booking and we will refund any monies already paid less any charges levied by Suppliers.

RAIL CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGEA total of 75kg of checked in luggage per guest is allowed on the train for Platinum Service. An additional fee may apply for excess luggage. Checked in luggage cannot be accessed during the journey, so you should bring an overnight bag to the cabin containing everything needed for the journey.

Full rail terms and conditions may be obtained from Air New Zealand Holidays. By booking train travel through Air New Zealand Holidays you agree to be bound by Great Southern Rail’s conditions of carriage.

DEPOSITS AND FINAL PAYMENTExcluding Kimberley Cruising DepositA minimum non-refundable deposit of $100 per adult or $200 per booking, whichever is the greater, is required within 7 days of confirmation of your booking, unless otherwise advised at the time of booking. Some Suppliers may impose additional deposit requirements in addition to the minimum deposits stated above.

Final PaymentFull payment of your holiday cost must be made no later than 30 days (48 days for rail holidays) prior to travel, or by sale end date, or by the payment deadline specified in individual package conditions, whichever is earliest. For bookings made 30 days (48 days for rail holidays) or less prior to travel, full payment of holiday cost is required at the time your booking is confirmed.

Kimberley Cruising Deposit and Final PaymentAsk your travel agent at the time of booking to outline the Supplier’s own deposit and final payment conditions. Up to 25% of the cruise fare may be required within 7 days of confirmation of your booking. Full payment of your holiday cost may be required no later than 90 days prior to travel. For bookings made 90 days or less prior to travel, full payment of holiday cost is required at the time your booking is confirmed.

Please ensure payments are made by the due dates. If this does not happen, our system will automatically cancel the booking without notice or liability to you.

Only upon payment of the full cost of your holiday do you have a final booking with the Supplier of the relevant good and/or service. In arranging your booking, Air New Zealand Holidays is acting as the agent of the Supplier of the relevant Product and at no time do you have a contract with Air New Zealand Holidays.

AMENDMENT FEESAny amendment to your booking will incur an amendment fee of $35 in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS Prior to final payment: Your deposit is forfeited.

After final payment: There will be no refund of your deposit, in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier, which may be up to 100% of monies paid.

After travel: There will be no refund for cancellation once travel has commenced or for unused services unless cancelled prior to travel date. Requests for refunds received more than 6 months after departure date will not be accepted.

RESPONSIBILITYAir New Zealand Holidays act as an agent for the Suppliers (Hotels, Tour Operators and other Suppliers) who provide the various goods and/or services (Products). All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by each Supplier.

Irrespective of any measures taken by us to ensure the information contained in this brochure is accurate at the time of printing, Air New Zealand Holidays disclaims and will be exempt from liability in respect of anything misleading, false, incomplete or inaccurate and any errors, misdescription and all associated disappointment, loss, expense, damage, inconvenience, delay, death, shock, illness or injury, however caused.

Air New Zealand Holidays does not control the manner in which Products featured within this brochure are provided. Air New Zealand Holidays disclaims and will be exempt from liability for anything to do with the supply of such Products. TRAVEL INSURANCETravel insurance is strongly recommended as it may protect you if you cancel your holiday due to unforeseen circumstances.

TRANSFERSSome Accommodation Suppliers provide courtesy transfers to/from the airport. It is essential that these transfers are pre-booked. Some Tour Suppliers provide complimentary pick up and return to your holiday accommodation.

TOURSSome tours require a minimum number of passengers to operate. If minimum numbers are not achieved tours may be cancelled at short notice. Additionally, some Suppliers reserve the right to cancel departures for other reasons, including bad weather. Some tours and itineraries may also vary and attractions may be substituted due to seasonal conditions. Air New Zealand Holidays will not be held liable for a service variation, cancellation, delay or withdrawal, or a Supplier’s failure to notify you. A full refund applies for the cancelled tour.

PASSPORTS AND IMMIGRATIONAll travellers to Australia must carry a valid passport. Please ensure you are aware of all passport, visa, immigration, quarantine, customs and other requirements of the countries being visited or transited. Air New Zealand Holidays is not responsible for ensuring that you comply with these requirements or for any loss or expense resulting from your failure to comply with these requirements.

HEALTHPlease ensure you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations and that you carry all necessary documentation.
