• Signature Bridge construction is under progress across the Yamuna at Wazirabad.

SIGNATURE BRIDGE

• Bridge length of about 575 meters and a height of 155.5 meters the proposed Signature Bridge would have a bow-shaped pylon in the middle.

• The superstructure depics INDIAN tradition gesture NAMASTAY.

• It is an ambitious project of the Delhi tourism, the cable-stayed bridge.

OBJECTIVEThe objectives of summer training at SIGNATURE BRIDGE was to get the actual site knowledge and how actually work is carried at these big projects.

To understand the social, economic and administrative aspects that affects the working environment.

To get the practical knowledge as we get to learn things quickly after visualing them.

We get into a place where we don’t know anyone and start to build new relations and learn on our own.

Primary objective of the project was to understand the economic factor and how things are implemented.

WHAT IS SIGNATURE BRIDGE?Signature Bridge is a CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE consisting of 15 wires on main span and 4 on the other span.

MAIN WORK ON BRIDGE WERE;-1. PYLON- PYLON? a support

structure for suspension bridges or highways.

The PYLON consists of two legs made of steel boxes which merge into one upper pylon zone where the cable supporting the main span and the backstays cable are anchored and inter connected.Chinese company, JIANGSU ZHONGTAI STEEL STRUCTURE CO. LTDPYLON consists of 15000 Tonnes steel.TERREX-DEMAG is the machine being used for lifting PYLON parts.

2. FoundationFoundations were only under PIER 19 and PIER 20

Foundation used were open foundations and well foundation(INTEGRATED WELL FOUNDATION)

1-It consisted of two circular well foundations with a dia. Of 12m at top and increasing upto 18.15m at foundtion level.2-The well cap is interconnected by a 5m deep tie beam 10m wide.3-The foundation used was DOUBLE-D.

Integrated well FOUNDATION

• It involved circular pililng of 1200mm diameter and 16mm dia of each reinforcement. • Instead of sand filling IRON ORE will be used to increase the dead load.• P23 is the INTEGRATED WELL FOUNDATION.

After having completed my training, I have gained some basic knowledge in the field of bridge construction. This PROJECT has familiarized me with PRACTICALLITY surrounded around any project. I have been exposed to the standard requirement that needs to be followed during construction. For any country to progress it needs to have a proper infrastructure else no development can proceed from the word go. So as a civil engineer we will have to be focused and determined on the things at hand because if we fail in our duties the result will be hazardous.
