Some questions for the day
Which themes?
Which theme champions?
How will we report/ disseminate?
What are the key challenges for teaching, learning, assessment and the student experience?
Can we form an enquiry network to investigate these issues?
Listening Triads: Roles
In turn take on the roles of questioner, respondent and listener:
Questioner: use the questions on the next slide and your own queries to promote and prompt the respondent’s thinking about internationalisation; listen carefully so that you structure the ‘interview’ appropriately
Respondent: take time to review the questions in relation to your experiences and beliefs and respond in detail;
Listener: listen actively and carefully to the conversation and make a record of key themes, experiences and issues emerging; you need to be ready to review the conversation with your colleagues
Listening Triads: Questions
These questions will get you started, but add in other queries that you
have as ‘questioner’ as you listen to your colleague:
• Can you identify a specific example of how you’ve internationalised the curriculum?
• What were the challenges?• What were the outcomes?• Who benefited?• What might you do differently next time?
inter-disciplinary enquiry network
• teacher-led inter-disciplinary enquiry network
• based on Equal Acclaim for Teaching Excellence (EquATE) programme, a programme led by the Research Centre for Learning and Teaching (CfLaT) at Newcastle University

The case study can act as:
A frame: a structure for supporting the articulation of ontological and epistemological beliefs
A lens: a process through which different ideas and understandings about practice and enquiry can be shared
A scaffold: supporting strategic developments
A measure: a way of capturing change that has occurred (Hall, 2011)
A catalytic tool (Knorr-Cetina, 2001, cited in Robson, Wall and Lofthouse, 2013) for professional learning
