Shore connection for environmental friendly power supply

of berthed cruise and cargo ships

Challenge

• Typically, ships use own diesel engines for power supply while berthed

Significant emissions and cost (~1 t/h fuel consumption)

Solution

SIHARBOR solution:

• Turnkey solution from planning, design to implementation

• Ship-to-shore electrical connection at berth using self-contained mobile unit

• IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005 permissible switching operations

• Built in frequency and voltage conversion, shore side as required

Customer benefit

• Reduction of local emissions, noise and vibrations

• Reduction of fuel consumption and run-time of ship’s diesel engines

• Financial discounts for ships using shore connection power supply system

• New business model for port operators

Clean Energy application:

Hydrogen as energy integrator

▪ Refueling station for H2 and

fuel cell vehicles

▪ Conversion of excess energy

from Wind & PV parks

(Hydrogen conversion)

▪ H2 and/or O2 for on-site /

local industry production

processes (H2 utilization)

▪ Injection into local natural

gas networks (up to 10%)

Applications with Hydrogen

generating additional revenue

streams
