In today’s fast-moving and competitive marketplace, innovation and quality must also combine to provide performance and value for money. We’re continuing to enhance our range of services too, alongside developing legislation. Our service and maintenance provision operates via a nationwide network of service centres to ensure a fast and relevant response, keeping equipment in peak condition 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

New challenges and regulations developed by the Care Quality Commission around safeguarding people in the healthcare environment have also led us to develop specialist Auditing Services, helping customers to

ensure they meet these new requirements and providing the systems and expertise to ensure they can demonstrate this in practice.

As the only remaining volume manufacturer of hospital beds in the UK, we’re investing in our production facilities too, with the addition of new high speed laser cutting equipment and more robotics to ensure quality and consistency, securing the future and providing tangible benefits for our customers.

We pride ourselves on our flexibility, short production timescales and optimum levels of product and spares availability. The people angle is vital, too; our sales and customer service teams have the knowledge and expertise to support customers with detailed and accurate information to match solutions with requirements.

Above all, our objective is to develop and manufacture relevant, safe and cost effective products designed to make healthcare equipment better and more productive in every way.

Underlining the vital role our UK manufacturing base plays in our ability to respond quickly and appropriately to our customers’ changing requirements, we are continuing to invest significantly in automated processes in order to best meet our customers’ expectations in 2015. Our developing product portfolio is supported by our focus on professionalism in all areas, continuing the trend for testing and validating to ensure compliance with industry standards, with an increasing number of products gaining important third party accreditations. In support of our customers, we continue to expand and upskill our teams. Relocation to larger service centres with enhanced facilities is enabling us to provide faster, more targeted support, with the emphasis on quality and performance in every aspect of our work.

Innovative and relevant product design and development play a vital role in our continued growth, focused around identified requirements and changing standards. We have strengthened and enhanced the skillsets of our R&D team, establishing a centre of excellence for the development of healthcare equipment products which has seen the successful introduction of products including the Innov8 iQ ward bed, with additional key product developments planned for 2015. Key Features:The Innov8 Low bed has an exceptionally low platform height of 22cm with features which enable it to be utilised as an everyday acute ward bed.

The range successfully combines Sidhil’s established tradition for strength and durability with special lightweight construction materials and techniques, offering a bed which is functional, stable and aesthetically pleasing.

Easy to assemble and disassemble, the beds are made up of four component sections, the heaviest of which weighs just 23.4kgs. When assembled, this sturdy, fully tested construction is capable of taking a maximum user weight of up to 28 stone (180kgs). Sidhil also manufactures a bariatric version specially engineered to cater safely for patients weighing up to 50 stone (320kgs). Sidhil have further enhanced the presentation of the beds by incorporating a choice of different wood colours and padded head end colours to harmonise with existing furniture and finishes in domestic settings and residential care homes.

The Bradshaw range can be supplied with a full range of accessories including lifting poles, grab handles and side rail pads. Sidhil’s Easi-Riser overbed tables are now available in a choice of wood finishes to coordinate with the range.

These regulations are in place to prevent or control risks to people’s health and safety from equipment that they use at work and the regulations apply everywhere that the Health and Safety at Work Act applies.

Sidhil can help ensure that you meet your legal responsibilities in respect to equipment compliance under mandatory regulations such as:

• Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).

• The Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

Health care associated infections are estimated to cost the NHS at least £1billion per year with each incidence of an avoidable healthcare associated infection costing an estimated £4,300.

The Health and Social Care Act 2012 clearly defines the responsibility of organisations to protect patients, staff and others from acquiring Health Care Associated Infections. The Care Quality Commission Essential Standards for Quality and Safety – Outcome 8 provides guidelines on how to meet requirements within the Health and Social Care Act 2012 with respect to infection control and cleanliness.

Introducing Our New, High Performance Dynamic Therapy SystemsOur latest high specification dynamic therapy mattress systems have been designed to combine exacting performance and ultimate reliability with a range of new features which deliver defined clinical benefits, providing enhanced safety and comfort for all patient group risk levels.

Our new surfaces have been developed in line with current nursing procedures, delivering high to very high pressure care risk management as defined by the EPUAP and NICE guidelines.

The new systems are designed to fulfill the pressure care management needs of all healthcare environments, covering acute, community, nursing and residential care; when combined with our existing range of dynamic systems, we now have the ability to meet the needs of pressure care in all clinical areas.

Dynamic Therapy Operating Modes:

Alternating: alternate cells individually inflate and deflate over a 10 minute cycle, offering optimum pressure relief and blood perfusion.

Constant Low Pressure: Low internal cell pressures immerse patient into the static surface to distribute interface pressure over maximum area to reduce peak pressures.

Pulsation: Creates tissue stimulus by alternately increasing and decreasing internal cell pressures of a low pressure, static surface.

Max Inflate: Inflates cells to maximum pressure resulting in a firm static support surface, for nursing procedures. Returns to alternating after 20 minutes.

May be used in other product combinations or to build up a higher gap filling profile where required subject to a suitability assessment. Easy to fit and remove to enable side rail to be lowered fully (pads do not profile).

The modern alternative to traditional plastic and polyester screen curtains, featuring an easy clean hygienic construction with high specification fire retardant plastic panels. Fits epoxy coated white screen frames, can also be retrofitted to existing Doherty frames. Panels cover full screen frame for complete privacy. A choice of white and four additional colour finishes to coordinate with the Doherty Howarth trolleys and Doherty couches. Minimal assembly required. (Screen frames must be purchased separately.)

Key Features:All controlled Drugs Cabinets meet “The misuse of Drugs (safe custody) regulations 1975” and exceed BS2881:1989 Level One in line with current UK requirements for these products.

They feature a fully welded construction using 2mm thick cold reduced mild steel sheet, with 3mm thick anchor plates at all fixing points.

2mm thick mild steel continuous hinges are complete with 25mm joints and a 4.5mm

diameter hinge pin, welded to the hinge to prevent removal of the door if the hinge is forced.

All cabinets are polyester powder coated to Ral 9003 (White).

Locks are 6 pin Euro profile cylinder locks incorporating anti-pick, anti-drill, and-bump and fire resistant features or seven lever mortice locks featuring hardened steel mortice bolts with anti-saw facility.

Robust medication cabinets providing residents and patients with a secure location for the storage of medicines and personal effects.

Available as standard with a single cam lock providing security and safety, with options including code locks, RFID card locks and internal shelving.

Monitored Dosage Trolleys

Built to a very robust design to withstand the rigours of long medicine rounds, these medicine trolleys feature two fixed and two swivel braked rubber castors for enhanced maneouvrability through narrow doorways and corridors.

Suitable for the storage and dispensing of the blister packed monitored dosage system (MDS) as supplied by Pharmacies (not suitable for the storage of controlled drugs).

A bee travels an average of 1600 round trips in order to produce one ounce of honey (up to 6 miles per trip)

To produce 2 pounds of honey, bees travel a distance equal to 4 times around the earth

Honey bees are the only insects that produce food for humans

Honey bees communicate with one another by “dancing”

It’s all about the girls - male honey bees are called drones, they have no sting and do no work at all – their only job is mating!

If you park in our car park at Holmfield you just might see some of our extra 20,000 workforce busy around the shrubs and flowers...

In 2009, our two resident apiarists Alistair Fry and David Lewis brought the first bees to Sidhil, and our colony is thriving. We’ve had a bumper crop of wonderful honey this year, which is shared out around our staff and customers – they all say it’s a particularly good vintage!

It is believed that honey history dated as far back as 10 to 20 million years ago and the practice of beekeeping to produce honey, known as apiculture, dates back to at least 700 BC – so we’re proud to be part of the heritage!
