and have made a significant contribution to society.

They act as an inspiration to current

and future SIDE students.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility

The Hall of Fame

Recognises and honours students who have;

• Excelledintheirfieldofendeavour(career,academic,performance,athleticorservicetocommunity)and/orhavemadeasignificantcontributiontodistanceeducationinWA.

• Spentaminimumof2yearsataWAdistanceeducationschool*aseitherafulltimehomebasedorschoolbasedstudent.

• ExhibitedvaluesandbehaviourthatreflectthecorevaluesoftheDepartmentofEducationandSIDE.

*CorrespondenceSchool,TheIsolatedStudentsMatriculationScheme,TheEarlyChildhoodEducationScheme,SIDEPrimarySchool,SIDEMiddleSchool,SIDE Post-Compulsory School, DistanceEducationCentreandSchoolofIsolatedandDistanceEducation.

Inductees

• Inducteesreceiveaframedcitationandrecognitionoftheircontributions.• AnimageandshortbiographywillbeplacedinthepermanentHallofFamegalleryattheschoolandonlineontheschool’swebsite.

• InducteeswillbepublicisedinprintandSIDE’ssocialmediaplatformsandnewsletter.

Nominations

• Nominationformswillbeavailableonthewebsiteandmustbeincludedwithanysubmission.• Nominationsshouldbenolongerthanfourpagesinlengthandmustincludeboththenomineeandnominatordetailsandsignature.

• Nominationsshouldfollowtheoutlineprovidedontheform.• Nominationscanbemadebyanymemberoftheschoolcommunity.• Allnomineeswillbejudgedonthemeritsoftheirachievementsasoutlinedinthenomination.• Unsuccessfulcandidatesareeligiblefornominationinsubsequentyears.• Potentialcandidateswillnotbeacceptediftheyhaveacriminalrecord.• InducteescanberemovedfromtheHallofFameatthediscretionofthePrincipaliftheirbehaviourisdeemedtobeconductunbecoming.

• Posthumousandself-nominationswillbeaccepted.• NominationapplicationsandinformationprovidedwillremainconfidentialtotheselectioncommitteeandSIDEPrincipal.

• Amaximumoftwoinducteeswillbemadeperyear.• IftherearenosuitablenominationsthentheHallofFameinductionisnotawarded.

Selection Committee

AllnominationsreceivedwithbeconsideredbytheSIDEHallofFameselectioncommitteewhichincludesthePrincipal,selectedteachingstaffandrepresentativesfromtheSchoolCommunityandwillbeendorsedbySchoolExecutive.

Alldecisionsarefinalandnocorrespondenceorexplanationwillbeenteredinto.

ApplicationsThenominationformmustbecompletedandincludedwithyoursubmission.ApplicationsclosebyFridayAugust 14th,2020.

Applicationsshouldbenolongerthanfour(4)pagesinlengthandmustincludeboththenomineeandnominatordetailsandsignature.

Nominationsshouldfollowtheoutlineprovidedontheformandallsectionsmustbecompleted.

SuccessfulinducteeswillbenotifiedbytheSIDEPrincipalinSeptember2020.
