At the Spring Meeting 2019 the annual general meeting of the SID Mid European Chapter took place. All officers applied for an extension of their position, the quorum elected them by hand raising. The actual officers are listed at the end of this newsletter.
The SID-ME student award was granted at the Spring Meeting 2019 to Mr. Maxim Schmidt (Saarland University, Saarbrucken) for his work on “Robust BLU Design by Optimizing LSF Shape for Automotive Applications”.
The SID-MEC meeting took place at Eindhoven University of Technology.
Over 50 participants from 5 different countries participated in the meeting.
A presentation by Albert Schenning.

The second day closed with a scientific tour through the labs.

SID-ME STUDENT AWARD 2019
The SID-MEC Spring/Summer Meeting took place july 3rd and 4th in Eindhoven – The Netherlands - and was hosted by Institute of Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Special topics for this meeting were haptics for displays and smart windows based on display principles. Apart from that there was also room for ‘regular’ presentations about advanced displays.

SID-MEC SPRING/SUMMER 2019 MEETING03/07/2019 - 04/07/2019
The organizing committee consisted of Prof. Dirk Broer, Prof. Albert Schenning, Dr. Danqing Liu and Dr. Michael Debije.
More than 50 very motivated participants from 5 different countries participated in the meeting, which was also very interactive.
EuroDisplay 2019 was hosted by the Belarus Chapter in hotel Marriott in Minsk, from September 16th to 20th. The conference attracted delegates from all over Europe, Asia and the rest of the world.
The Program chair was Prof. Kristiaan Neyts (Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium) and the Organizing committee chairs were Vadim Bogush, Vladimir Labunov, Anatoly Osipov and Alexander Smirniv (all Minsk, Belarus).

Main topics included Liquid crystal materials, OLED materials, Display materials, Thin film transistors, Liquid crystal displays, OLED displays, Micro-LEDs, Electronic ink, Virtual reality, Related applications, Metrology and standards and Production technologies.
The social program included attending a Ballet performance at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, a guided tour of Minsk and a networking gala dinner in the panoramic restaurant on the 22nd floor of hotel Belarus.
