Sibling Preference Communication Dear Parent/Guardian: As we begin a new lottery season for the 2015-2016 school year, MLC needs to plan for new sibling(s) of current students who are interested in attending MLC . To be considered for sibling preference, the new sibling(s) must complete and submit an on-time lottery application to Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) between November 15, 2014 and the d eadline of February 27, 2015. Submission of this form does not enroll you into the lottery. You must complete a RSCO lottery application online, located at www.choiceeducation.org or submit a RSCO p aper application. You must apply before the deadline, February 27, 2015 , or your child will not be considered for the sibling preference. Sibling preference applies to families of a current student, who will continue to attend that school in the 2 015-2016 school year, and has a sibling who will apply to that same school. Siblings are defined as students living in the same household with the biological parent, legal guardian or foster family. Although siblings receive prefe rence, placement depends on seat ava ilability and is not guaranteed. This form must be filled out and returned to your current student’s school. • All current families must submit an on -time RSCO lottery application either online located at www.choiceeducation.org or complete a RSCO paper application and submit by the RSCO deadline. • Applicants must select the current student’s school as “1st choice” on the RSCO lottery application to receive the preference. • Applicants must enter the current “sibling” on the RSCO application of the new sibling application on the RSCO application where it is requested. • Once the sibl ing has received the placement offer from RSCO, the sibling must accept the seat by the RSCO deadline, and meet all other requirements outlined in the RSCO placement letter, or the student will not be allowed to be enrolled.
