Partnership and Profi le-Building Opportunities
As the marine fuel industry continues to evolve to meet regulatory requirements, new challenges are emerging, resulting in the need for new strategies to be developed, be it for compliance, operational e ciency or managing operational costs. Given the multitude developments in the industry, staying ahead of the game is crucial for all stakeholders in the industry. With bunker fuel prices continuing to remain high, shipowners are looking closely for ways to improve fuel e ciency. The impending global cap on sulphur limits that is targeted to be imposed in 2020 will have a direct impact on shipowners and everyone involved in the bunker supply chain. As a result, alternative fuel options such as LNG bunkers and scrubber technology are being further explored and developed.
In this regard, the 18th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON) provides a platform for all in the bunkering industry to deliberate on these evolving issues, and above all, it gives a direction on the future of the bunkering industry. SIBCON 2014 promises to bring you exclusive speakers, interactive dialogues and vast networking opportunities, which are unique to the largest bunkering event at the world’s top bunkering port.
As part of the SIBCON activities, the use of the Mass Flow Meter for bunker custody transfer will be discussed in depth as part of the pre-conference symposium on 14 October 2014. For the fi rst time, SIBCON participants will also have the opportunity to visit Singapore’s fi rst LNG terminal. This will be in addition to the opportunity to observe Singapore’s strategy on preventing and managing oil spills, during the Joint Oil Spill Exercise.
I invite you to come with your teams and be part of the most infl uential event in the global bunkering calendar.
The success of SIBCON has been well documented and I am confi dent that with your continued support and participation, SIBCON 2014 will be another successful run. So register early and feel free to visit www.sibconsingapore.com for regular updates on the programme, speakers and many more.
See you at SIBCON 2014!

Yours sincerely,
Dr Parry OeiChairman, SIBCON 2014 Steering CommitteeDirector (Port Services) and Chief Hydrographer Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
