1st November 2016 - SIAA signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Spanish Robotics Association (HISPAROB). This MOU marks another milestone for the ongoing efforts by SIAA to explore and forge alliances with like-minded organizations globally. We hope to benefit our members and partner communities through continued collaborations & partnerships to put learn from others as well as share expertise and knowledge with them.

SINGAPORE PAVILION WITH IMAP FUNDING IN 2017/2018
SME WORKSHOP “USING TECHNOLOGY TO BRAVE THE ADVERSITIES IN RETAIL & TOURISM” ON 17 FEB (FRI) 10AM – 1PM @FUSIONOPOLIS
SIAA has submitted our application for IMAP funding for the following trade shows. Through the IMAP Funding program, companies will receive support up to 50% of the eligible expenses once the exhibition is approved by IE Singapore. Results are expected to be released in Mar 2017.
‘Singapore retail sales fell 6.5% year-on-year in August (2016) – twice the rate of decline of the previous month’ – Inside Retail Asia. News and reports about businesses in the retail and tourism sectors experiencing intense competition are abundant. How can technology help business owners remain competitive and productive in such adverse economic climate? In this workshop, NTT Docomo and I2R researchers will be sharing with you, system integrators, technologies that you can apply to develop value-added services or products to boost sales and overcome some of the challenges of both retail and tourism.
In the second-half of this workshop, business owners can also learn about adopting Ready-to-Go (RTG) technologies from I2R such as the Intelli-signage, to boost their productivity, with support from SPRING Singapore funding schemes.

On behalf of the Energy Programme Office (EPO), EMA will be launching a grant call in partnership with Sembcorp on 8 Feb 2017. The grant call seeks to catalyse research and innovations that are industry-relevant in the following 2 areas:
a. Domain A: Robotics and automation technologies to enableunmanned, autonomous, and remote inspection of service corridorpipelines in Jurong Island; and
b. Domain B: Maximising the utilisation of low grade waste heat in amulti-utilities facility
