After a break last year, by popular demand, we are planning a jolly SKA community summer coach trip to Eastbourne Seaside on Sunday 30th July. This is a fantastic way to travel with around 50 people singing “We're all

going on a summer…..”, eating, drinking; and sharing food, stories and laughter. Travelling on a coach is so much more comfortable and enjoyable than in a car! Bring your packed lunch and have a picnic by the seaside.

There will only be one coach so get your bookings in quickly to enjoy a trip to seaside the traditional

way.

The cost will be £12.50 per person payable by cheque or cash in advance.

Please first phone Damayanti Atul Khatri on 0774 203 8637 by the application closing date of Sunday

16th July 2017 to book your place. This will be strictly on a first come basis. Only if you have

confirmed place please complete and send the attached application form with your payment.

Send form to: Damayanti Khatri, SKA, 18 Leys Gardens, Barnet, HERTS EN4 9NA. Cheques payable to

Shree Kshatriya Association of UK. However, if paying by cash please do not post but hand it in

personally to Damaynti.

Coach departing from: Woodchurch Service Station (former Texaco Petrol Station), on the corner of

Church Lane / Wood Lane, Kingsbury, NW9 8SL

Departure Time: 8:30am (Precisely)

Ladies Bingo NightThe ladies Bingo Night was held on Saturday 18th March 2017, and it was attended by 70 ladies across all ages. The event was once again a super sell out (a FULL HOUSE) that was enjoyed by all who attended. The overwhelming success meant that there were requests by the attendees to continue to arrange similar nights on a regular basis. The Committee are happy to facilitate such a popular and fun event.

Congratulations to the winners of the prizes: Jagruti Kiran Jadav, Alpa Bhavin, Gita Motiwala and Bhavana Vakharia

Two games of bingo were played with prizes to be won, followed by dinner; and alcoholic drinks were available for purchase. We would like to thank all those who attended and especially for those that helped out during the night. With such a tremendous response and all helping out we will definitely look to hold similar events in the future.

It is great to announce that The Grand Social night was

indeed a GRAND event that lived up to its name, with

around 235 people attending. It was held on the Saturday

20th May at the Darji Pavilion Hall.

One thing is for sure, people like to meet, eat, drink, relax and be happy as it is evident from the full houses at the regular monthly Social Evenings.

So the primary reason for this special event at the Darji Pavilion was to give all our members the opportunity to attend a social evening rather than just seventy at our Mandal hall, which quite often leaves our members very disappointed when unable to attend a monthly Social Evening, especially in the summer months when most of our elders are back from their winter escape. So it is no surprise that this event was extremely well supported. Thank you.

The Grand Social started off in good time at 6.30pm and most people had arrived by 8.00pmEven though the dress code was Smart Casual, we had more smartly dressed than casual: ladies in their sarees, nice tops and trousers and some men in very smart blazers !Everyone had seats but as usual male members loved the bar area to purchase alcoholic drinks using tokens, and soft drinks were free on each table.

To do justice to the evening a variety of starters were served to satisfy everyone: Nacho with Dips, Crisps, Peanuts, followed by 3 coloured Dhokhra and a variety of Bhajias. (GREAT !!)

Mains : Ghosh with nice soft Naan, two salads, Rice and Tadka Daal. Vegetarian home cooked Paneer and vegetables plus dry Potatoes, Gulab Jamun etc. (SUPER !!)Meal finished off with a Cornetto each. (YUM !!)

To add that final touch to the occasion a live singer entertained the revellers through the evening, though it must be said this was more appreciated by the ladies than the men, who were certainly happy with their drinks and a chat. (GRAND !!)

Our SKA President Anita gave a little speech to welcome everyone, and thanked all who made this evening a great success.

Chefs were complimented for good food and overall everyone had a relaxing and very enjoyable time. Everyone mingled well with lots of room to move around. Great fun!

The Grand Social
