Support 'Team London' to win the Khatri World CupBy Team London SquadThe Khatri World Cup started in 2002. Every 2 years from Australia, New

Zealand & Fiji 8 to 10 dedicated teams travel around the Oceanic Continent to

battle it to be the Khatri World Cup Champions. These tournaments are very

well organised, competitive and a gathering of Khatri members from around

the globe, attracting more than 1000 spectators supporting family and friends.

Over the last 6 months in London we have been regularly playing a friendly 11

a side match. Recently it was discussed amongst the players if we would be willing to represent London

at the next Khatri World Cup. We have 21 members from our community who are committed to represent

London in the June 2018 Khatri World Cup, hosted in Nadi, Fiji. We want to take the best team and are

looking for the best talents. This represents a once in a lifetime opportunity for a team in London to make

their mark and show their skills in this competitive and friendly 4-day tournament.

To make this project possible the support from our wider community is imperative. The team needs to

raise £10,000 in the form of sponsorship to be able to compete. Players will commit themselves to 6-9

months intense training and will pay for their own air fares to Fiji.

Can you pledge your support to your fellow community family and friends to represent London in the 2018

Khatri World Cup?

This will help fund the team's accommodation during the tournament, football kits, training facilities and a

possibility of hiring a football coach in London.

Why not sponsor your company or business on the team shirts, shorts or jackets?

Never has a team from outside the Pacific Ocean attended this event. London wants to be the first. After

all we are the home of football.

We have already raised approximately £3,500 of sponsorship within our community. We will also be

organising fundraising events throughout the year, watch out for more information in the next newsletter

on Facebook and email.

How to make your pledge or join the team. Pledge your support and sponsorship to Team London by

contacting Nilesh Patel 07949 158095 or Mayur Hazratwala 07944 043274. Shree Kshatriya Association

UK (SKA) has volunteered to hold the sponsorship money and if in the event, the team does not travel, all

sponsorship money will be returned in full.

If you wish to discuss this further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Nilesh or

Mayur. If any members of our community wishes to be part of this journey it is still not too late, this is still

open to more players.

We are also looking for volunteers within the community to coach the team, if you think you would be

interested in this, please contact us to discuss this further. Furthermore we would like to extend a special

thank you to SKA for their support and letting us promote this project in their newsletter. We look forward

to updating you on our progress in the next newsletter.

Thank you Team London Squad: Aaron Thakorlal, Afzal Mohanlal, Anil Khetani, Bhavin Narottam, Chetan Khatri,

Hemal Bhikabhai, Hitesh Kabawala, Hitesh Kapadia, Hitesh Khatri, Javin Solanki, Kiran Jadav, Kushal

Time : 4.30pm to 6.30pmSKA Hall, 2A Villiers Road, London NW2 5PH

On 23rd October 2016, I had a wonderful opportunity to meet Abhishek Bachchan at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea vs Manchester United. It all began after seeing a twitter retweet from Abhishek regarding a Raffle competition from a newly formed online company from India called Buy My Time. The prize was to win VIP tickets to watch Chelsea vs. Manchester United with Abhishek Bachchan. To enter, participants were required to donate to the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled by buying raffle tickets from the Buy My Time website.

Initially, I was only interested in going to the match to watch my beloved football team, Manchester

United. So I bought 10 raffle tickets not thinking that I would have a chance of winning. I was then

contacted by the Buy My Time team to tell me that I was 1 of 4 lucky winners of the competition. At

the time of the announcement, I did not believe that I had won, so my reaction was quite cold. You

can see my reaction on the Buy My Time Facebook page.

The other winners were from India arrived in London with the Buy My Time team on 22nd October,

when we all met. We had a great day out in Central London and we picked up the match tickets

which was a very exciting moment and we could not wait for the day to arrive. I was very excited

and nervous about meeting Abhishek Bachchan as I had never met or seen a celebrity.

On the day of the match, Abhishek arrived from Mumbai early in the morning. He sent the winners a

video message soon after he landed via the Buy My Time Facebook page and we then met him for

lunch. It was so good to see him and all we talked about was the sport in India. It was very

interesting to find out about various upcoming sports in India apart from cricket. It was quite

interesting to hear that in India football is more popular then cricket.

Before kick off, during the match and after the match there were quite a few photo opportunities.

My experience with Abhishek was a wonderful one. Abhishek is a very down to earth person. If you

didn't know who he is, you would not think that he is a Bollywood star. During the whole experience,

Abhishek did not refuse a request or photo opportunity. In fact, he even agreed to FaceTime my

cousin who's a big fan (lucky him). Abhishek also signed my match ticket, which I am due to frame

with one of the photos taken with him. Unfortunately, the only disappointment of the day was the

result. Apart from that, the experience was unforgettable.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Buy My Time team for giving me the opportunity to

enter the competition even though I was not from India. I also got the opportunity to donate to

charity and have a celebrity experience.
