Shot ideas for forest end scene

I find that too often my traveling shots are composed around the top half of the body forgetting that it is actually the legs that garner the momentum. I like sense of energy and movement conveyed in this shot and there is also a sense of intrigue as well.

Another low angle shot however with the added effect of the fish eye lens. I like the mystical quality this adds. The abstract nature of the narrative leans itself to this style and also I like the voyeuristic element with the loose framing of the band helping to place the audience within the setting.

Yet again another low angle shot. I thing what draws me to this shot is the sky : ground ratio meaning that the boys are cast almost in silhouette against the sky. Obviously this element is harder to achieve within a covered forest surrounding but it made me consider capturing shots of the boy/girl following ribbon from below the tree top trail structure.

This master tracking back shot is held for long periods throughout this video and although I obviously don’t have the resources of a jeep and crane to get such smooth shots. The sense of momentum and speed achieved here makes me inclined to try to get a similar shot.

This film really bowled me over visually. Apart from just the vibrancy of the colours the subtle handheld /steadicam approach gave the film a kinetic energy that emphasised the momentum of the character and there movement .I’ve found that many of the shots I’ve captured of the boy/girl following the ribbon have been side on and actually it l can be striking for an audience to see the character head on (or in this case from behind) in the centre of the frame.
