Compensation (noun)

Definition: something given to help recover from a loss, injury or suffering

Example Sentence: He received compensation for his car accident injuries, since the accident was not his fault.

Dissuade (verb)

Definition: persuade someone not to do something

Example Sentence: The road signs dissuaded us from going off-road and driving on the desert sand.

Premonition (noun)

Definition: strong feeling that something bad will happen

Example Sentence: Even though she prepared for the surprise party, she had a premonition that nothing was going to go as planned.

Uproar (noun)

Definition: a loud noise or disturbance

Example Sentence: When the singer came on stage, the uproar from the crowd was deafening.

Limitation (noun)

Definition: something that limits or restricts

Example Sentence: The dog’s limitations were caused by his short leash, and he soon realized he couldn’t travel very far.

Reassurance (noun)

Definition: removal of someone’s doubts and fears

Example Sentence: We all need reassurance that that we are loved and everything will be ok.

Prowling (verb)

Definition: moving restlessly or sneakily

Example Sentences:

Allegedly (adverb)

Definition: something reported to be true but is not proven

Example Sentence: The students allegedly refused to follow the rules, so the principal had to investigate and find out if it was really true.
