This story happened in Goa, India. We were really happy to find a big house like that when suddenly things started happening. We are a really big family and my mom's family usually visits us. That night, all my cousins and relatives were home and after dinner we all were sitting in the living room talking, laughing and listening to my mom's childhood stories when all of a sudden my mom stopped talking. As she was lying down on the floor nobody first noticed anything. Then my dad realized that my mom had not just stopped talking but she wasn't even moving. My dad asked her what's wrong but she was just laying still and an impression on her face as if she was trying very hard to get something off her. She finally with a lot of effort said "YA ALLAH" (name of lord) when she stood up and sat on the couch. We asked her what happened and she told us that someone was trying to strangle her and she couldn't even breath or form words to say something. All of us were very frightened but we couldn't do anything as it was midnight. The next morning after all our relatives left my dad went to work as usual. Though me and my mom were afraid we told him it was okay as it was morning and if something paranormal would happen we would call him immediately. In the afternoon I went in my room to sleep for some time when suddenly I had chills. I was going out of my room when something just tried to push me and I fell on my bed. I could see someone holding me down. I shouted when my mom came running and as she opened the door the activity stopped. I told her what had happened and about the person I just saw. She called my dad and we immediately left the house for some days. After some days we came back thinking nothing would happen now. At night as my sister was doing some work on the computer when it got unplugged. There was no way the plug could just come out like that. My sister had come from Bangalore and she knew nothing about the ghost. She came to know the house was haunted and she was not a person who could get scared. She started shouting at no one saying, "I'm not afraid of you! You can do whatever you want!" She plugged the plug back into the socket and started the computer when again it got unplugged. She got so frustrated she started cursing the ghost. We came running and she told us what was going on. My dad said we could not stand living here anymore and every day it was getting harmful for us. We left the house and as I stepped out of it I felt like I was free, like I could breathe again. The encounter with that unknown person trying to kill me would always haunt me. The long day had taken its toll on us and my wife and I immediately fell off to sleep. It must have been around 1.30am when I heard a knock on my door. I cautiously opened the door and was surprised to find Anand outside. He looked a little worried and told me that after we left Jyo suddenly started feeling very cold and started shivering. Anand had found it surprising since he felt no such chill. I asked my wife who is a doctor to accompany me to Anand's room with her medicine box. Upon entering his room, I felt uneasy and could immediately sense that something was amiss. Two woolen rugs had been wrapped around Jyo but she was still shivering and her teeth were literally chattering. When my wife examined Jyo, she was stunned to find that though Jyo was feeling feverish and her body had become icy cold. Shrugging aside her fear my wife gave her a couple of tablets which would put her to sleep and give her a much needed rest. We did not want to leave Anand alone in this condition and decided to be with him. This was perhaps the best decision which I took considering the events which happened subsequently. Anand was sitting on the bed, caressing Jyo's hand gently to put her at ease. My wife and I made ourselves comfortable on a couple of chairs available in the room.

This was perhaps the best decision which I took considering the events which happened subsequently.Anand was sitting on the bed, caressing Jyo's hand gently to put her at ease. My wife and I made ourselves comfortable on a couple of chairs available in the room. It was around 3.00 am, my wife had dozed off and I was about to follow suit when something really creepy happened. Jyo suddenly sat up straight in her bed with a look in her eyes which we had never seen before. Anand, who was sitting beside her tried to put his arm around her to comfort her. She suddenly shrugged herself free from Anand, caught him by the neck and pushed him. The force with which Anand was pushed was so great that he was literally flung like a puppet, six feet away from the bed. To do that to a person like Anand who is close to 6"3 inches tall and weighs around 90 kgs really required extraordinary strength. Jyo suddenly said the following words "Mujhe Jaane Do... Jaana hai " (Let me go... I have to go!) This still is a mystery to all of us. The voice that said those words certainly wasn't Jyo's. Jyo stood up as if in trance and was trying to go to the balcony. I have to admire the courage shown by both my wife and Anand at this point of time. Anand and I used all our might and pinned down Jyo to her bed while my wife ran out to get help. We got a couple of housekeeping staff from the hotel in the room within a couple of minutes. I immediately told them to help us shift Jyo to my room. It took five of us to lift Jyoti and shift her to my room. All this while Jyo was only uttering the words "Mujhe Jaane Do... Jaana hai ".As soon as she was laid on the bed in my room things started to return to normal. Jyo stopped resisting and soon fell asleep much to our relief. All of us were shaken by the turn of events. We thanked the bewildered Hotel staff for their help. I noticed that it was around 5.00am at that time and perhaps with the coming of daybreak the hold of the spirit on Jyo had weakened OR Shifting her out of that room had helped. We decided to check out the next morning. Though a little tired, Jyo was perfectly fine the next morning with no recollection of the previous night's events. She was however surprised to find herself in our room. Anand however put her at ease and told her that he would explain everything once we left the hotel. While Anand was settling the hotel bills, I was called aside by one of the hotel staff who, under the condition of anonymity told me that the room had been the scene of a gory incident a couple of months back. A couple had checked in, they had a big fight which lasted late into the night. The man walked out off the room leaving the lady behind. After sometime the lady flung herself from the balcony of the room killing her instantly. The police had made some enquiries but were unable to trace the man who had accompanied her that night. The case was subsequently closed. The housekeeping staff had themselves felt a creepy feeling sometimes in the room, though no incident was reported by any of the occupants who occupied it after that. We decided to let the matter rest but before leaving, advised the manager of the resort to do some sort of purification or a cleansing ritual to free the tormented soul. Whether he performed the ritual or not is not known to us since we did not visit the place again. We were just happy at that moment to have escaped without any harm. Anand subsequently told her the events which had occurred that night. She was shaken at first, but has now come to terms with it. However what would have happened if Anand and I would not have been able to subdue Jyo that night is a thought which still gives me the shivers.Ever since I moved into my own room, strange things have been happening. At first, I loved my room. I designed it all on my own: the wall colours, decorations, and furniture were all to my taste, and I had a sleep over to christen it. However, once my friends left the next morning, things got weird. During that evening, my dad and I sat up watching "Family Guy" and I saw a figure pass by the window. From what I could see, it was a teenage boy with jet black hair. I went to see if someone was at the door, but nothing was there. So, I thought it was my imagination, but over the next few days the boy continued to pass the window at the same time. One night, I was just lying in my bed trying to drift off to sleep, but then something woke me up. I heard a rattling noise; it sounded like my computer chair had rolled across the room. I pulled the sheets away from my ears and sat up to find the computer chair right beside my bed, and it looked as though a figure had just faded away from the chair. Like anyone, I freaked out and ran into my dad's room. "Dad! Dad! Get up now!" I yelled.

"Aimee, this better be important," he moaned. I explained to him about what had just happened and dragged him to my room, but once we turned on the light, the computer chair was back at my desk and the bed was made. Dad was obviously irritated, and I begged him to let me sleep in my old room, but he just told me it was my imagination. Reluctantly, I crawled into bed and tried to fall asleep, but throughout the whole night, voices kept filling my ears.

The next night, I decided I was going to prove my dad wrong and get some proof of this ghost. So I invited my friends over and we turned off every light in the house and sat up using our phones to take pictures, videos and voice recordings. It was a lot of fun but nothing showed up. Once they left, I tried it again on my own. I gathered up a lot of videos etc and turned on the lights. I got one ghostly picture of a boy's face in my bedroom and one voice recording of a boy talking. I was so chuffed! To be sure I wouldn't lose this evidence, I saved it to my memory card.

When dad got home, I skimmed through my phone looking for the evidence but couldn't find it. It had been deleted. I was annoyed, upset and freaked out by this, and didn't bother telling dad that I even tried to get evidence. That night, when I went to bed, The room went extremely cold. So cold that I could see the vapour from my breath. This was weird because the heating had been turned on ages ago meaning the house should be like an oven. I completely froze and felt tingles creep up my spine. Two hands as cold as ice curled around my neck. Despite my attempt to scream for help, not a sound came out of my mouth. I could barely breathe.

"Don't ever tell people I'm here," hissed a young male voice, "Or else I will continue squeezing your neck."

I could feel someone breathing down my neck. Rigidly, I nodded my head as if to tell him I wouldn't reveal him. Then, the hands slowly released my neck, the breathing stopped, and the room warmed again. I sat there, still unable to breath despite my screaming lungs. I was completely paralyzed with fear. Ever since the incident, the breathing continues to fill my ears night after night. The boy still appears at the window, and the computer chair still moves.

But I had to tell someone.
