ABOUT THIS WORKSHOPThe Writing Winning Research Proposals Workshop is an intensive one-day workshop designed to assist faculty and students who are actively developing research proposals. The workshop is targeted to faculty and students with a range of grant-writing experience and will focus on areas of the proposal that are particularly challenging. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to help you build on feedback from peers and workshop instructors.

Writing effective specific aims.
Developing a compelling significance section.
Demonstrating innovation and approach.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOPThis introductory level workshop focuses on basic experimental design and statistical concepts. It gives an introduction to quantitative measurement and analysis in health science research, covering topics such as sample size calculation, descriptive and inferential statistics, modern graphical techniques, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for both numerical and categorical data. No prior statistical software experience is assumed.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE Understand quantitative research design.
Recognize and link basic concepts of statistics with “what it means” and “when it is used”.
