Dear School Families,
Thank you to everyone who was able to make our Sports Day on Wednesday and for following the rules to makes sure it was covid safe. We all had a lovely time and it was great to get us altogether, in key stages at least, to celebrate our children and our school.
One of the 800m winners spoke to me afterwards. When I asked what the secret of their success was, they replied:“Passion and courage and never giving up. I’m grateful to all my friends for
their support.”If that doesn’t sum up everything that’s great about Sport Days, I don’t know what is. A special shout out to Mr Barker for organising the day, our school office for sorting out tickets at the last minute and our Trust tech team for setting up the speakers and mic. I am blessed to serve such a wonderful community.
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend. Shelley England [email protected] FAITH . ADVENTURE . TOGETHERNESS

Parent Picnics - Weather Dependent MOANA! Collective Worship and Values
Despite the delayed lockdown, we are still going ahead with parent picnics on Fridays
leading up to the end of term. Please check your child’s dates overleaf.
However, our covid risk assessment means we will need to unfortunately adhere to the following:
● We are unable to allow access to toilets (sorry)
● Families must be socially distanced and in their child’s bubble (class) in groups of 30. Staff will need to organise this on
the day - please be patient!● Mobile phones are not to be used on
the premisesChildren can still order a lunch to be collected at
the kitchen, but as other adults are unable to enter school, grown ups will need to bring their own picnic. We’re really sorry you will miss out on
Ann’s fish and chips, but you can always pinch a couple!
Please bring a blanket/something to sit on - we are looking forward to seeing you!
We are looking forward to going out as a whole school to watch Moana at Hillfort playing fields next Wednesday! We will be taking a packed lunch and
enjoying an ice cream before watching the performance and
walking back to school. The trip is covered by our local trip
permission and does not cost anything. However, children will have the chance to buy an ice-cream for
£1, so please send your child with £1 on the day if they would like to buy an
ice cream. We will be back before the end of the
school day at the usual time.
Our overarching Christian value this term is
FAITHIn collective worship this week, we heard the final instalment of the story of Nehemiah. Nehemiah
rallies his people to repair the city wall of Jerusalem, making it safe. However, the people
who lived there before the war, had fled to safety, were afraid to return and the city felt empty. Instead
of feeling fed up and worn out by their work, the Jews set the goal to bring them all back: they
prayed to God, met together to eat and worship and gradually, people were drawn back to the city to
make Jerusalem flourish once more.
Mr Barker’s Rocky Award
Angel in the Wanderers class for showing amazing resilience and determination on sports day to
complete her 400m race.
