During the start of this scene the character is in a fighting ring full of surrounding people who are cheering the character on. The protagonist is fighting a person who is a lot bigger than him. This shows that the character is not frightened of this person and is seen as being self-confident and likes to put on a show. This is also apparent when he is dodging the dangerous wild flying punches of the big person. The protagonist is being showed to be antagonizing this person as well by clapping when getting hit. He then insults the person by not fighting normally. He actually slap’s him not punch’s him. This shoes that the character probably has the potential to fight properly. To fight just by slapping shows that he is quite intelligent and quick. He is also represented as being a person who enjoys violence, this is shown by the protagonist fighting for fun rather than money as he tell the person that he has won and doesn’t want to fight anymore. It also shows he likes to bully and annoy people. He is also represented as someone who likes to show off and please the crowd. He is dancing when the big person is on stumbling around the ring. This proves that he is a show off. When a woman in the crowd distracts the protagonist, the big person then hits him. He then wants to stop. This shows that he isn’t in it to win money but for fun. His fun is now over, as he wants to see the woman. The big person then spits on the back of the protagonist head. The protagonist show then shows his dangerous and angry side. He then runs through his head how he is going to have his revenge, In this part he tells himself how he is going to fight the big person with each move planned out as well as what the injuries that the person is going to obtain. This is brutal and shows the character to be smart in what he is doing and showed to be enjoying the pain he is about to bring upon this person. Then the protagonist executes what he had in his head into real life perfectly. This shows how being smart and dangerous is a deadly combination. In this scene the costumes that the people fighting are wearing are very simple. They are wearing there normal

trousers like they would normally ear in the Victorian times, were this film is set. However they are not wearing their shirts. This is showing that they are street fighting and are not professional.
