I detected potential blockage in the member’s left carotid artery –

which caught the member completely by surprise. With the

member’s consent, I reached out to her daughter, who is an RN.

She too was unaware of the concern.

In speaking with them both, I strongly recommended a followup

!isit with the member’s primary care pro!ider – which they did.

In a followup call to the member, she read to me the report from

her carotid artery ultrasound. It said she has bilateral carotid

artery stenosis less than "# percent. She thanked me for the

disco!ery and my insistence on her getting e!aluated. $er doctor

would continue to monitor her condition.
