The Farmers cross country team pushed themselves as hard as they could to bring the victory home to Shawswick against rivals BMS. ● The boys were fueled by the motivation to take back the win after

The Farmers cross country team took on the zig-zagging hills of the Paoli Invitational last night. WIth 14 schools being represented Shawswick girls placed 5th as a team and the Boys placed 7th as a team. Every runner gave their all and really pushed to run hard for their team and their school. Be sure to give a shout out to a cross country runner today, and while you are at it, wish them well for tomorrow’s meet against BMS! Any 6th grade girl interested in trying out for the basketball team will need to attend tryouts. Tryouts will be on Monday, October 7th and Wednesday, October 9th from 3:15-5 in the middle school gym. It was another hot day for the Farmers Cross Country team to hit the course at Parkview going up against rival BMS. ● The girls remain undefeated taking the win securing 8 of the top 10
spots scoring 23 with BMS scoring 41. Scoring for the girls: Savannah Russell, Gracie Simmerman, Bo Haddan, Kenzie Perry, and Ella Peek, and having Madison Chandler, Maddie Simmerman, and Karingtyn Yost listed as notable athletes displacing BMS to secure the win!

The NL Stars football team traveled to Tri North Tuesday night. ● The 7th grade Stars won 18-6. Cal Gates rushed for two touchdowns
and he threw a touchdown reception to Gabe Fulkerson. Ruel Steele and Gates had an interception as well.
● The 8th grade Stars lost 33-6. Memphis Louden threw a touchdown pass to Riley Walker.
The Stars traveled to Jennings County on Thursday night. ● The 7th grade team won 34-18. Cal Gates threw a touchdown pass to
Brayson Short. Gates, Gabe Fulkerson, and Tate Woods each ran for touchdown. Gavin Pedersen had two interceptions and ran one back for a touchdown. Junior Arellano blocked a punt. The 7th grade team is now (6-0) on the season.
● The 8th grade Stars won by a score of 30-12. After being down 6-0 at halftime, the Stars woke up and dominated the second half. Maddox Ray, Ryker Hughes, and Christian Garciano-Curren each rushed for a touchdown. Ryker Hughes got the energy started by blocking a punt and Grissom May caught it and returned it for a touchdown. The 8th grade team is now (5-1) on the season.

Note worthy runners for this meet were Carson Rollins finishing over 3 minutes faster than the last. And Kenzie Perry for the girls dropping 2 minutes from her previous time. Definitely note worthy is Tucker Inman from Shawswick Elementary who ran with the team, and though his time did not count in the meet, he finished second overall with a time of 13 minutes and 19 seconds, only 1 second short of the overall winner! The NL Stars football team returned to action on Tuesday night when they hosted the Edgewood Colts. The 7th grade Stars won by a score of 32-6. Scoring rushing touchdowns for the Stars were Cal Gates, Gabe
Fulkerson, Tyler Webb, and Zach Brosamle. Cal Gates threw a touchdown pass to Brayson Short. The 7th graders remain perfect at 3-0. The 8th grade Stars beat Edgewood 36-12. Maddox Ray rushed for three touchdowns while Christian Garciano-Curren rushed for one. Memphis Louden threw a touchdown pass to Gabe Nelson. The 8th grade Stars are now 4-0. Today is Gabrella McVey's birthday. Happy birthday! BNL Stars Football: The North Lawrence Stars football team opened up their 2019 season on Thursday night when they hosted the Jackson Creek
Jaguars. The 7th grade stars won by a score of 8-0. It was a hard fought game in the rain but the Stars took the lead with 58 seconds left in the game on a long touchdown run by Cal Gates. The Stars secured the win by a game ending interception by Gavin Pedersen. The 8th grade Stars beat the Jaguars in a much more convincing way by a score of 28-0. The Stars dominated from the start to finish with a leading score of 20-0 at the half. Scoring touchdowns for the stars were Christian Garciano-Curren with 2, Memphis Louden, and Piaire Childs. The Stars also had a big fumble recovery right before the half by Grey Grier which was converted into a touchdown with 12 seconds left. The Stars will travel to Batchelor Middle School on Monday and to Mitchell on Thursday.. School picture day is Friday, August 30. Order forms will be sent home during 9th period on Monday next week. -Boys and Girls Club participants and Middle School Football players: Your afternoon bus is the same AND it will now pick up in front of the school near Entry #2, the main entrance. Please be aware that this change is starting today. -Cafeteria procedures | 6th grade, if you have any questions regarding the procedure, please let us know.

If so, you'll be limited to checking out one book at a time until you've paid to replace it. If you've found any books that you thought were lost, please bring them to Mrs. Gaither. There's a good chance she can get a refund for you if you've already paid the replacement fee. -Is your name on your chromebook case? If not, please stop by the library today to put your name on your case. Your name should also be on your charging cable if you bring it to school.
