As long as I can remember, I felt a fervor for building things. As an adult, I discovered that I actually had a penchant for the hands-on aspect of construction. Shades IN Place, Inc. was founded in response to my passion for taking a project from start to finish with quality craftsmanship and keen attention to detail.

I partnered with a local retail chain of window coverings so I could work as a subcontractor offering installation services to their clients. With my mechanical skills and talents combined with many hours of training, my reputation rapidly spread throughout the community. Shortly after, clients started requesting drapes and plantation shutter installation as well as hanging pictures and artwork.

As my clientele grew, I knew I needed to continue to find ways to best serve my clients. I started offering window coverings and became a trusted and reliable source for blinds, shades, drapes, and plantation shutters. Opening the Windows of OpportunityIn order to provide the best service possible, Roger traveled the country to acquire certification and training from manufacturers like Hunter Douglas, Somfy, and Norman Shutters. Additionally, he attended schools such as The Custom Home Furnishing Academy in Charlotte, NC. Through his Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) membership he has gained further insight about industry standards. But it doesn’t stop there. He continues to hone in on the best business practices and finding new ways to better serve his clients, every chance he gets.
