Shannon Trail System Northern Highland American Legion State Forest Welcome! Shannon Trail System terrain is gently rolling with a variety of mber types. The loop around Shannon Lake is especially scenic. Shannon Trail System is groomed, for winter acvies, by a local volunteer. The green trail is intermediate and the rest of the loops are classified as novice. Approximately half of the trail winds through an area that was logged in 1976, 2000 and again in 2010. The remainder meanders through a variety of northern hardwoods. Leashed pets are allowed on this trail. No fee or pass is required. Trail Rules • A Wisconsin State Trail Pass is not required for the Shannon Trail System. • Carry out all lier and waste. • No motorized vehicles allowed. • A lost and found service is maintained at Crystal Lake and Clear Lake Visitor Staons.
