technology
Overview
My name is Shanae Ubando.I started school in 1987 in WaialuaI graduated from high school in 2000 in Kahuku.I first went to college at Hawaii Pacific University in 2000.When I finish my degree, I hope to become a math teacher.
My definition of educational technology
Educational technology is educating students of today using something meaningful to most of
them: technology. It’s a way of enhancing learning
using technology.

Kindergarten technology
TelevisionsFloppy Disks with little memoryBasic CalculatorsCassette tapes and VCRsNot widely available in all schools
High school technology
College technology
Data projectorsDigital Cameras Interactive whiteboards, like Smartboards, are becoming a common thing in the classroom.
A vivid technology learning experience
Engages learners, increases student motivation.Provides opportunities for students to use outside resources.Links daily, real world experiences to the classroom.
A technology I want to use in my classroom
Cell phones because I want students to be able to work collaboratively in and out of school. Instead of having to discipline students for hiding cell phones, I want them to use cell phones productively.
My vision of the classroom of the future
Interactive. Filled with variety so each student can learn the best way for himself.Versatile. Students will have the technology to communicate with others and teachers in different ways like through email, cell phones, online chats, as well as in person.
A challenge for teaching
Funding distribution. All schools are not treating equally and therefore technology, supplies, and programs vary by location.
Words of wisdom
