The Globe Theatre was William Shakespeares theatre. The theatre was the first theatre that was a building. Yet, the theatre burnt down twice. After the Globe Theatre burnt down the second time, it was not rebuilt for many years. In 1997, Sam Wanamaker wanted to build another one. Sam Wanamaker was an American actor that is now dead. He did not get to see the theatre finished. He got it to be rebuilt with the same materials. The new theatre still stands today. All the plays had to take place in the afternoon from two to four or five pm because the theatre had an open roof. All in all, because the Globe Theatre was William Shakespeares, they only put on his plays.
