Fundraisers

Shady Oaks Camp Daily Pick 3 Raffle

1000 tickets will be sold numbered 000-999

Tickets are $10 each

Every day during the month of February 2020, the Illinois Daily Game

(evening Drawing) numbers are picked. Whoever has that EXACT number is

the winner for that day.

The payout is $100 per day and $150 on Sundays. Not bad for a $10 ticket!!

Also, if the same number is pulled during the month (and yes, it happens) you

win again! You have to match the numbers in the

Exact order and not in reverse or any other combination.

Example, if 258 is pulled, only 258 wins (not 285, 528, 852 etc.)

We will keep track of the drawing every day.

One ticket gives you 29 chances to win!!

Spring Clean Up

Thank you to Beth Rogers, Ken and Mary Jane Conway, Todd Conway and the whole PalletMaxx family for

their extremely generous donation to camp! A special thank you also to little Gus and the Neitzke-Troike family

who the donation was made in honor of.

Thank you Scout Frank Cerny and everyone who came out to help him with his Eagle Scout project. Thanks to

Frank and his team we now have a new gazebo!!!!!

Thank you to the crew from St Michael the Archangel Church who came out to camp twice to do some much

needed drywall work to dorm 12. You guys are awesome!

Thank you to all who attended the camp holiday party. Because of everyone's generosity we were able to make a

$500.00 to United Way of Will County! Super Special thank you to Jan Golden for making all the cool raffle

baskets.

Thank you to everyone who came out to see SOC board president Bob Szajkovic's holiday light show. This year

Bob collected a record $3,086.75 in donations!!!!


Job Opening

Shady Oaks Camp is currently looking for a live in camp caretaker to start immediately. Caretaker must

live on camp grounds in house provided. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, equipment,

vehicle and building maintenance and repair, grounds keeping, janitorial, plumbing, electrical, carpentry

and other duties assigned by the Maintenance Committee. This is a full time job and requires person to

be on call. Applicant should be a self-motivated, responsible person with basic knowledge of technology

(Email, You tube, internet, etc). Must be in good health and able to perform all duties of job (gutter

cleaning, mowing, lifting, etc). Perfect job for the recently retired or just someone tired of the daily

grind. Benefits include Home with utilities, stipend, and meals during summer operation. Interested

parties should send resume to Scott via email [email protected].

Brett Sheridan on the passing of his

mother Jennifer Kunes Sheridan.

Our thoughts and prayers are with

Brett and all of Jen's family and

friends during this difficult time.

Remember you must be a dues paying

member in good standing in order to

hold a seat on the board of directors

or for your child to attend to camp.


IT’S OFFICIAL

We have legally changed the name of our

organization from The Parents Association for

Cerebral Palsy Children and Adults to Shady

Oaks Camp for People with Disabilities. We are

still Doing Business As (DBA) Shady Oaks

Camp. The name change does not affect our

federal ID number which will stay the same. If

you apply for matching grants through work,

donations through United Way as long as our

federal ID number is used (36-2182090)

donations will come to camp. If the old Parents

Association name is used that will need to be

switched to our new name. Thanks all!

Corporate Matching Grant Program Several companies participate in matching grant

programs meaning the amount of money raised by the individual or a group of individuals is matched by your

corporation.

So don’t forget to talk to your company’s human resources department to see if they are willing to match a donation that you make to Shady Oaks Camp. If so, then spread the word to your co-workers as quickly as

you can. Every penny counts!
