Place a piece of art paper to a wall. Direct a strong light source onto the page. (A projector works well.) Stand side-on so that the shadow of your pro�le is centred on the art paper. You may need to adjust the distance of your light source so that you get a sharp image that �ts on the page. Have a friend trace your shadow on the art paper with pencil. Be careful: do not look into the light.

Points to remember: Don’t look into the light. Keep your patterns simple. Use plenty of colour in your background. Don’t use black in your background design.
