Joe Kern, Horicon Head Wrestling Coach Reference: 2019-20 Trailways Conference Individual Tournament Information Date: Saturday, February 8, 2020 Location: Horicon Jr/Sr High School , 841 Gray St., Horicon, WI 53032 Entry: Please enter through the doors closest to the three flagpoles at the corner of Gray St. and Birchcrest Rd. Participating Teams: North Division - Pardeeville Co-op, Lourdes Academy, Markesan, Montello, Princeton/Green Lake, & Oakfield. South Division - Deerfield, Dodgeland, Horicon, Hustisford, Johnson Creek, Palmyra-Eagle, & Parkview. Trackwrestling: Please enter your team’s line-up on Trackwrestling.com by midnight Thursday, February 6th. A separate email will be sent to all head coaches and athletic directors with login information. Format: We will use 16-man brackets in all weight classes. Round of 16 will not be full. Round of 8 will begin immediately after the Round of 16 is completed, with wrestlers who competed in the Round of 16 pushed to the end of the Round of 8 to facilitate the 45-minute waiting period. Two competition mats will be in the Horicon Jr/Sr HS gymnasium. Warm-up mats will be in the multi-purpose room. The multi-purpose room will have a display screen

showing TrackWrestling so individuals can see when they are on deck or in the hole. Please remind your wrestlers to respect all areas of our school and to remain in authorized areas (assigned locker rooms, multi-purpose room, cafeteria, gymnasium and immediately adjacent hallways that are not blocked off) Schedule: 7:30am Doors open to teams. 8:30am Weigh-ins: Meet in the Weight Room. Weigh-ins will take place in the Boys’

Locker Room adjacent to the Weight Room. Girls’ weigh-ins will be in the Teacher Workroom just prior to 8:30am

9:00am Coaches/Seeding meeting in the Lecture Hall. Doors open to the public. 10:00am First Round: All sequential rounds to follow with one break for lunch 12:30pm Lunch Break: Time is approximate Officials: Jim Ewing, John Lehr, Matt Vande Sande, Darin Zahrte. Hospitality Room: The Lecture hall will serve as the hospitality room for coaches, officials, bus drivers, and tournament workers. Seeding Meeting: The seeding meeting will be in the Lecture Hall at 9:00am . Seeding criteria will be:

● #1-Overall record with at least 10 matches wrestled ● #2-Head to head. ● Coaches will vote for special considerations

Locker Rooms/Team Areas: All wrestlers participating will have use of the multi-purpose room throughout the day to keep their belongings and to warm-up. Two locker rooms are available. North Division teams will use the Girls’ Locker Room and the South Division teams will use the Boys’ Locker Room. In the multi-purpose room, we’ll assign each team an area along the outer wall for their gear/items. Female Wrestlers: All female wrestlers will be assigned to the Teachers’ Workroom. All female wrestlers will weigh-in in the same room at approximately 8:20am.

Licensed Athletic Trainer: We will have a Licensed Athletic Trainer from Marshfield Medical Center - Beaver Dam. Concessions: Concessions will be available in the school cafeteria throughout the day. All proceeds will go to the Marsh Hawks Wrestling Club. Admission: Admission price is set by the Trailways Conference By-Laws and will be as follows: $5 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens. Bus Parking: All buses should park at the far end of the school parking lot. Following the coaches’ meeting with the officials, bus drivers are welcome to use the Lecture Hall. Awards: Individual: Medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place and wall chart for conference champion. Team: Trophy for the winning team. We will also award the team trophies for the Team Duals Champions from both divisions. Inclement Weather: In case of weather-related cancellation, the following Monday, February 10th, will be the make-up date, with procedures as follows:

● Coaches will meet on Sunday at Horicon Jr/Sr HS to seed the tournament. ● Tournament on Monday will be single elimination. ● Place back to 4th.

Reminders: Radios, noisemakers, banners, and signs will not be allowed. No coolers or bags will be allowed in the high school gymnasium due to limited space. Food/beverages are NOT ALLOWED in the high school gymnasium nor in the multi-purpose/warm-up room.
