Mr. and Mrs. George Allen came on Wednesday to spend the holiday with their parents, the Vacarons. Other Christmas Day dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Farns- worth and daughter, Susan, of East Grand Rapids and their bro- ther, Gus Bergman of Detroit. MRS. LURA STEVENSON and Mrs. Carrie Hitter of Sparta were Christmas dinner guests of the Jack Ingersolls. MR. AND MRS. JOHNEHGOTZ and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Suits of Coral were Saturday dinner guests of the 1 arry Pratts. MR. AND MRS. GEORGE N1CKOLA1 were Christmas Day guests of their daughter-in-law Mrs. Johanna Miller, and chil- dren, Eva, Leonard, Ralph and Susan. MR. AND MRS. JACK 1NGER— SOLI, were Christmas night call- ers of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Harding of Westgate. MR. AND MRS. LARRY PR- ATT and Mrs. O. T. McCready of Sparta were Christmas Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chorman of Sparta. MR. AND MRS. EDWARD MI- NON were Christmas Eve dinner guests of the Norman Davenports. MR. AND MRS. RICHARD WESTBROOK of Round Lake, Ill- inois (west of Chicago) were Sat- urday evening guests of the John All members are urged to at- tend this informative session. Sgt. Beukema is a 19G5 grad- uate of Sparta High School and attended Grand Rapids Junior College before going to active duty with the Air Force in Oc- tober of 1967. He received his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and has been stationed at the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash- ington for the past two years. While at Fairchild, the young air- man has been with the Deep C reek Survival School and has also tr- ained in Panama and Alaska. Sgt. Beukema and the former Pat Ring of Bel ding were mar- ried in June of 1968. Spartan Hi- Lights by Angle Murray (delayed news) Christmas vacation began Tuesday, December 23 at 2:45 p.m. Now all can have a rest and sleep in. An assembly was presented by the choir and band on the last day of school before vacation. That evening they showed their talents in their folk cantata. On Saturday the juniors had a baked goods sale to raise money for their prom. Many partici- pated. Thank you for buying our baked goods. On Monday night before Ch- ristmas the French Club went caroling. They sang in English however. Earlier in the week the French Club members went tobogganing and managed to come home in one piece. Vacarons. THE LARRY PRATTS were Saturday guests of their brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pratt of Murray Lake near Lowell.
