share. Indian players have a stronghold in this segment and the opportunities for them are in the area

of (developing) hyper-local models like browser content, entertainment and m-commerce”.

of Internet supported mobile devices stood at 431 million.

A Seminar on Employability was conducted at Samalkha Group of Institutions (SGI) on 24th February

2015 for all students. The event was chaired by Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI; Mr. Amit Verma (HOD,

CSE), Mr. Amit Sinha (Placement, Manager), dignitaries, faculty members of various Departments and

students. Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI addressed the students about importance of employability.

The eminent Personality Sudhanshu Shekhar (Manager, Aspiring Minds) guided the students about

AMCAT- Test for Employability. Aspiring Minds Assessment Private Limited is an Indian

"employability evaluation and certification company", headquartered in Gurgaon with an office

in Bangalore. Aspiring Minds developed the employability test – Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive

Test or AMCAT. Graduates and students can take this test to present a picture of their skills and

abilities to the companies. Companies can hire the candidates directly from the database or from

Aspiring Minds’ Assessment service. He also guided the students that AMCAT test comprised different

modules like Aptitude, Skill and Personality test modules. He also explained about the shortlisting

criteria of any company. By having a standardized test (i.e. a common test taken by millions of

candidates), scores can be quickly compared across multiple candidates allowing recruiters to quickly

generate a shortlist of good candidates. By performing well in the AMCAT, a good candidate can stand

out amongst their peers.

AMCAT is inherently fair since every test taker is evaluated on same parameters. Hence hiring happens

strictly on merit.

The purpose of the seminar was to make aware and encourage students about computer based test on

GRE pattern i.e. AMCAT. All the students actively participated in FAQ session. The faculty members

played an important role in organizing and coordinating the event. The event was coordinated by Nancy
