Dr. Carla Berkich –Executive Director of University Health & Counseling Center ii. Dr. Theresa Sharpe-Associate Director, University Counseling Center The counseling center have been expanded The services offered Relaxation room is now available, as well as an audio room, the rooms are available with thirty minutes slots. To gain access to these rooms you do not need to have an appointment to see a counselor but you do need to have a short orientation of the faculty before being able to use the space. Two recliners are included. Studying within the room is prohibited. Mood check is online. To gain access visit the website. The results are anonymous. Counseling center open from 9-4. Walk-ins are accepted. The center can be used for consultations, student crisis etc… Self-help resources are available. Such as o Sleep apps o Academic help Notes taking

A psychiatrist is available on campus, Dr. Robert McClung.o Must visit counselors regularly in order to be seen by psychiatrist

Student 101 o Each semester we have TR.o At risk for college student training which is very interactive

Senator Welpley commented “it’s almost like a video game, very interactive and only takes about 30-40 minutes to complete.

o The grant to which this activity is available will end at the end of the month, and the department does not know if the grant will be available to the school again

We were showed how to register for the Texas Youth Suicide prevention project

Dr. Carla Berkich added that we the student body are the ones who needs to spread the word to the rest of the student body of the services that are available to them.

Ryan Harris asked a question----- the answer to the question---- Sarah Skeleton is the new Psychiatrist, who has military background

Vice President Hoper asked a question “how busy is the counseling center?”---- answer to the question----- very busy, the department have a waiting list, also the waiting time to see the Dr is 2 months.

Senator Killian asked “if SGA can tour the faculty as a group?” -----Answer-------yes we are welcome to come as a group, also if SGA wants the QTR training, they can do that.

VI. Vice President Reporta. Elections

8 applicant applied for positions, reached out to them and brief them on the campaigning rules and regulations.

We do not have a secretary anymore, she wants to focus on her studies and personal life. If someone is interested..... please let us know

VII. Treasurer (VACANT)VIII. Historian

a. T-shirt Swap Results Started with 350 shirts swapped out 167, it was a huge success, lots of people

turned out, and other organizations was surprised to see how many of us showed up and that we were all in out blue shirts

b. Up all Night We did the blue crush song, lots of student showed up and the event was an

overall success.IX. Senator Reports

a. Graduate Studies No tentative meeting at this time

b. Science & Engineering Meeting is set to take place on Sept. 21st, 2015 Freshmen Council will be attending the meeting with the senators of that College

c. Business Meeting is set to take place on Sept. 10th, 2015 @ 2:00PM

d. Liberal Arts Meeting is set for Sept 18th, 2015 @ 9:00am

e. Nursing and Health Science SNA------ it was a general meeting, they discussed to register for the

organization, the requirements to be a part of the club and the requirements to remain in the club—4 service hours.

Upcoming events as well as the next meeting will take place on Oct. 16th, 2015 @ 1 pm in the IH 160.

f. Education Waiting to hear back for confirmation for meeting time, but it should take place

on Sept. 22nd, 2015 @ 10:00am.X. Committee Reports

a. Spirits and Traditions Meeting Friday sept. 11th, 2015@ 2- 5pm Game day--- Volleyball game Friday Sept 11th, 2015 @ 3&7 pm, and Sat 12th,

2015 @3:00 pm Wear the blue shirts if able to make the games, would like it for at least two

members to make each game. The last games was a success= asked to come back to the games by the athletic

dept. If you wants friends to joins, please brief them before the game/ event

b. Student Affairs not here, she works during this time but is active outside of the meeting time

c. Constitution Constitution- will be voted on same time as the elections

d. Public Relations Requested budget proposal $300.00 would last the entire school year, for

Facebook promotions etc……Mrs. Lisa commented that we have to check to make sure that it is state approved before we can move the SGA Facebook promotion.

Floor is open for discussion==== we are trying to build SGA reputation, a way to increase our outreach,--- call other SGA in the area the other org to make decision

using both the online and the face to face interaction--only do so much Senator Ransom commented about the cost and that the face to face

interaction is not the best option either, best to do the online. Senator Karri commented that making a strong connection with the student

on campus before we can do the online promotion. Dr. Albrecht asked “how are we using Org sync? We  need to figure out the

events that we want to do, the committee needs to market the new plan” Mrs. Lisa added, 15634 is enrolled on the org sync, so we can use the

resource to promote SGA Comment boxes will be posted in the UC and Dugan Launch of twitter will happen the week of SGA promo week Tabling also begins after constitution week, the days will be Mondays and

Wednesdays and follows every other week The meeting attendees was asked for input on ideas for SGA promo week

a. Incentives Program The point system is back but is better revised, the information is stated on the

back of the agenda. b. Open Forum: Conceal Campus Carry – Monday, September 9, 2015

Wants the SGA members there in Polos and jeans.XIII. Open Forum

Tyron Jacksons wants to sell all natural hand crafted hot dogs, 75 % of the profits will be going back to the student

Check out the website campushotdogcarts.com Wants us to support the project He stated that the final decision is up to Mr. Wade He stated that wants to provide a real living example of the entrepreneur, and

that some of the profits will go back to helping student found their own business. No out of pocket cost from the university
