    PriortousingyourSkyCaddiebesuretofullychargethebattery.To

    chargethebattery:

    1. Insertthemini-USBconnectorofthesuppliedwallchargerinto

    themini-USBslotlocatedatthebottomoftheSkyCaddie (Fig.

    3).Ifneeded,gentlypullbacktherubbercovertogainaccessto

    themini-USBport.

    2.PlugthewallchargerintoanACwalloutlet.Whilecharging,the

    chargingindicatorintheupperleft-handsideoftheSkyCaddie

    willshowred.Thechargingindicatorwillswitchtogreenwhen

    fullycharged.

    Thebatterywillcharge,evenwiththeSkyCaddieturnedoff.A

    fullbatterychargemaytake4hours.Oncefullycharged,expect

    14hoursofcontinuousplay.

    1.4 DownloadingandInstallingtheDesktopSoftware

    TheCaddieSyncdesktop softwareis asimpleprogramthatenablescommunication between you

    SkyCaddieandanonlineSkyCaddieaccountthatyouwillneedtofreelysetupatwww.skygolf.com.You

    willuseCaddieSynctoactivateandregisteryourSkyCaddie,purchaseanoptionalMembershipPlan,

    renewanannualMembershipPlan,accessanddownloadSkyGolfsgrowinglistofSkyCoursesandmore.

    CaddieSyncoffersaSyncfeatureforautomaticlogintoyouronlineaccount.

    To install te latest version of CaddieSync onto your computer:

    theinstallationprocessafterdownloading.

    4. OnceCaddieSynchassuccess fullyinstalled,aSkyCaddieiconwillbeplaced

    onyourcomputersdesktop.Thiswillallowyoutoeasilylaunchtheprogram

    anytimeyouneedtodownloadcoursesormanageyouraccount.

    1.5 ActivatingandRegisteringYourSkyCaddie

    Within30daysofpurchase,youmustregisteryourSkyCaddieonline.

    Registrationisfree,anditwillallowyoutoactivatethestandardmanu-

    facturerswarrantyandassociate yourSkyCaddiesElectronicSerial

    Number(ESN)toyourcontactinformationforsupportpurposes.Your

    registrationinformationisheldinthestrictestconfidenceatSkyGolf.Wedonotsellorshareourusersinformationtoanyoneoutsideofour

    organizationwithouttheirconsent.

    To register your SkyCaddie:

    1. LaunchCaddieSynconyourcomputer.

    2. ClickontheActivateaNewSkyCaddiebuttonontheCaddieSync

    welcomepage(Fig.5).

    3. FollowingtheGet Connectedsetupassistanttoregisterandactivate

    yourSkyCaddie.IfyoudidnotpurchaseyourSkyCaddieonlineand

    haveneverhadaSkyGolfwebsiteaccount,youwillbeabletosetup

    afreeonlinewebsiteaccountduringthisprocess.Youwillalsohave

    theoptiontochooseanannualMembershipPlanthatbestserves

    theneedsofyourgame.

    1.6 BenefitsofSkyPlayerClubMembership

    DuringregistrationofyourSkyCaddie,youllbegiventheoptiontoselectanannualmembershipplan

    designedtofithowmanycoursesyouplay.YoucansignificantlyincreasethevalueofyourSkyCaddie

    withthesememberbenefitsforasmallyearlyfee:

    OnlineCourseStorage.CaddieSyncprovidessafestorageandeasyaccesstocoursesobtaine

    throughourwebsite.Yourcoursesaremanagedandstoredonourserversas Favorites,soyoudo

    nothavetomaintainfilesonyourcomputer.Additionally,youcanuseanycompatiblecomputeri

    theworldtoaccessyourFavorites.

    NoteIf you have owned or used a

    SkyCaddie in the past, the

    CaddieSync desktop software has

    replaced the SkyCaddie Desktop

    program that formerly handled

    management of your SkyCaddie.

    1.7 DownloadingCoursestoYourSkyCaddie

    Asdefinedabove,SkyCoursesaregolfcoursesthathavebeenrecordedforusewiththeSkyCaddieand

    containuniqueinformationoneachcourselayout.ThousandsofpublishedSkyCourse sareavailableonlinea

    theSkyGolfwebsiteforyoutodownloadtoyourSkyCaddie.OnceyouhaveinstalledCaddieSyncandselected

    aMembershipPlan,youwillhaveaccesstoourrapidlygrowingdatabaseofprofessionallymappedcourses.

    TosearchanddownloadcoursestoyourSkyCaddie,connectyourSkyCaddietoyourcomputerusingthe

    suppliedcable,thenlaunchCaddieSync.Whenthewelcomepagecomesup,turnonyourSkyCaddieandclick

    ontheSyncbuttononCaddieSynctologin.ClickonCoursesinCaddieSynctosearchforSkyCourses.

    NoteYou can browse the SkyCourse

    library anytime through the public

    area of www.skygolf.com. However,

    in order to obtain the courses for

    use with your SkyCaddie, you MUST

    have a Membership Plan and use

    CaddieSync.

    SG2.5LITE USERSThe SG2.5 Lite only provides

    distances to the front, center,

    and back of each green and the

    shape of the green.If you are

    interested in having distances

    to fairway targets and the

    IntelliGreen feature, you will

    need to upgrade your SG2.5Lite

    by syncing with CaddieSync and

    click the Account tab..

    Playing Golf Wit Your SkyCaddie

    2.1 AcquiringSignals

    Whilestandingoutsidepriorto play,powerontheSkyCaddie.Select

    StartbypressingtheLeftSoftKey.Pressthesoftkeytonavigatethe

    initialstartupscreensuntiltheSatelliteSearchingScreenisdisplayed.YoumustpoweruptheSkyCaddie5-10minutespriortoplaytoacquire

    GPSsatellitesignalsandreachoptimalperformance.

    Whilesearchingforsatellitesignals,theSkyCaddiedisplaysanimated

    graphicsindicatingwhensatellitesignalsarereceived.TheSkyCaddie

    willdisplaySearching,AcquiringandReadyasitacquiressatellite

    signals(Fig.6).OncetheappropriateGPSfixisacquired,theSkyCad-

    diewillautomaticallyadvancetothenextscreen.(Youmaymanually

    advancetothenextscreenwhiletheGPScontinuestosearchforsignals

    byselectingOKorDemo).

    2.2 SelectingaCoursetoPlay

    IfyourSkyCaddiehasobtainedaGPSsatellitesignalfix,theSkyCaddiewillattempttodetermineyou

    locationandauto-selecttheclosestinstalledcourse.

    Whenacourseisdisplayed,pressSelecttoplaythatcourseorsimplyscrolltoanothercourse(courses

    willbesortedbydistancefromyourcurrentlocation).IfnocoursesareinstalledonyourSkyCaddie

    theSkyCaddiewillopentheDemoCourse.Ifonlyonecourseisloaded,theSkyCaddiewillaskifyou

    wanttoplaythatcourse.

    Onceacoursehasbeenselected,theSkyCaddiewillaskyoufortheholetostartonortheDrivingRange

    (D).Maketheappropriateselectiontobegin.

    2.3 TurningtheDigitalScorecardOnorOff(SG2.5 Only)

    Duringstart-up,theSkyCaddiewillaskifyouwouldliketomaintainaDigitalScorecardofyourround

    Threeoptionswillbepresented(Fig.7):

    NewRound: Select ifyouarestartinga new roundand wishto

    maintainascorecardfortheround.

    ResumeRound:Selectifyoustartedascorecardforaround,was

    interruptedduringthatround,andwanttogetbacktotheround

    whereyouleftoff.

    SkipScoring: SelectifyouarenotinterestedinusingtheDigital

    Scorecardfeaturefortheroundyouareplaying.(Note:Selecting

    SkipScoringeffectivelyturnsoffthescoringfeature,sothefol-

    lowinginformationinthissectionwillnotapply.)

    MaintainingyourscoreusingtheDigitalScorecardisamanualprocess;inotherwords,youwillneedto

    manuallyinputyourscoresintotheSkyCaddieafterplayingeachhole.TheSkyCaddiewillnotautomati-

    callytrackyourscores.SeeSection2.5formoreinformationontheDigitalScorecard.

    2.4ViewingTargetsDuringPlay

    TheSkyCaddieoffersseveraldifferenttargetviewscreensgivingyouoptionsfordisplayingthekeytarget

    information.Choosethetargetviewsthatbestfityourstyleofplay.Thenextfewsectionsdetailth

    variousviewsandtheirfunction:

    AnIntelliGreenisagraphicoftheshapeofthegreen(Fig.9).InIntelliGreenview,thegreenwillhavean

    arrowdrawnthroughitrepresentingadirectline-of-playfromwhereyou

    areonthecourse.TheviewoftheIntelliGreenwillrotateonthescreen

    toshowthegreenfromthedirectionofyourapproach(i.e.theclosest

    partofthegreenwillalwaysdisplayatthebottom).

    Thethreenumbersalongtheleftsideofthedisplayaredistancestothe

    front,apointonthegreen(representedbyacrosshair),andbackofthe

    greenalongthelinedrawn.Toswitchbetweenthesedistances,simply

    chooseSelectusingtheLeft Soft Key.UsetheScroll Pad toreposition

    theline-of-play(crosshair)byholdingdownthe Scroll Padinthedesired

    directionandrelease.Thedistanceswillrecalculateautomaticallybased

    onthenewpositionoftheline.

    WhileintheIntelliGreenview,selectTargetwiththe Right Soft Keyto

    viewtargetlists.ToreturntotheIntelliGreenview,selectiGreenusing

    theRight Soft Key.

    2.4.2 Target Views

    YourSkyCaddiecandisplayfourdifferenttargetviewsdependingonyourpreference.Bydefault,two

    viewswillbeactive(GraphicalandExpandedView).Youmaychooseanycombinationoffourtarge

    viewswithinthePreferencesmenu.Toaccess Preferences,press theMenubuttonandscrollto

    Preferencesandselect.WithinPreferences,scrolltoTargetViewsandselect.TheSkyCaddiewi

    displayfourtargetviewoptions.Selectthedesiredtargetviewstodisplay(acheckmarkwillappearnex

    toeachselectedtargetview).

    TheSkyCaddiewilldisplayViewandiGreenatthebottomofeachtargetviewscreen.View(Left

    SoftKey)switchestothenextenabledtargetviewscreen.ToquicklyreturntotheIntelliGreenviewfrom

    anyofthefourtargetviewoptions,simplyselectiGreenusingthe Right Soft Key.Uponreturningto

    theIntelliGreenscreenusingtheiGreenoption,selectingTargetatalatertimewillreturnyoutoth

    lasttargetscreenviewed.ThefouravailableTargetViewsare:Standard,Graphical,Expanded,andBig

    Number.

    Standard:Alistingofalltargetsincludingsafelandingzonesinplayfromtheteethatarevisibleo

    maybehiddenwillbedisplayed.UsetheScrollPadtoscrollthroughthetargetsmanually(otherwise

    thetargetswillautomaticallyscrolloffthescreenasyoumovedownthefairway).Theinformation

    providedwiththeStandardViewinstantlygivesyoutheknowledgethatonlyacaddiecanprovideto

    negotiateahole(Fig.10).AppendixAhasacompletelistoftargetnamesandtheircorresponding

    targetdescriptors.

    Graphical:UsetheGraphicalViewtodisplaytargetsasintuitive,graphicalicons(Fig.11).PressUP/

    DOWNontheScrollPadtomoveonetargetatatime.PressLEFT/RIGHTonthe Scroll Padtoscrol

    tothetoporbottomofthetargetlistifthelistislongerthancanbedisplayedonasinglescreen.

    Expanded:DisplaysanexpandedversionofthetargetdescriptorandgivesyoutheLeavesdistance

    tothecenter(crosshaironIntelliGreenview)fromthattarget(Fig.12).

    2.5 UsingtheDigitalScorecard(New v.3 software feature)

    Ifyouselectedthescoringoptionduringthestart-up,attheendofeachholetheSkyCaddiewillaskyouhow

    manyshotsittooktocompletethehole(Fig.15).Bydefault,itwillshowwhatparisforthathole.

    1. PressLEFT/RIGHTontheScroll Padtoadjustthetotalnumberofactualshotstaken.

    2. Next,pressdownontheScrollPad,thenleft /righttoadjustthenumberofPuttsyoutook.

    3. PresstheLeftSof tKeyunderNextwhenyouaredone.

    Onceyouarefinishedwiththescoringonthathole,theSkyCaddiewilldisplayasummaryofhowmany

    holesyouhaveplayed,howmuchoverorunderparyouareatthatpointintheround,yourtotalscor

    andnumberofputts(Fig.16).Fromthisscreen,youhavetwooptions:

    1. ClicktheLeftSoftKeyunderOKtoproceedtothenexthole,or

    2. PresstheRightSoftKeyunderScoretoseeyourfullDigitalScorecard(Fig.17).

    3. TonavigatethrougheachholeontheScorecard,pressup/downontheScrollPad.Tochangeascore

    forahole,pressleft/rightontheScrollPad.
