For cosPhi between 0.8 Lag and 0.9 Lead, the max kVA deliverable by the UPS must be de-rated: this could not appear at a first sight. Of course if we refer to the 100% kW the UPS isnt de-rated because this is already a de- rated limit. Note that the horizontal line of 100% kW is 0.8 high: this is a de-rating factor due to the rectifier dimensioning. Please take a minute to see some remarks: With reference to the example of previous slide: The derating of kVA is meaningful and clarifies our gain w.r. to XXX (+9%), because the two percentages are referred to the same value (100kVA) The derating in terms of kW could generate confusion because for SG is greater w.r. to XXX (24.5% vs 22.1%). Therefore it seems that our UPS suffers of a higher deratingThis is due to the fact that these percentages are referred to two different values (90kW max for GE and 80kW max for Socomec) I think that it could be useful to emphasize the difference of kW in absolute values: in the example its clear that GE can feed 8kVA more (9%) or ~5kW more than XXX. In general terms, GE can deliver 10kW more in the whole range between Cos Phi 0.9Lag and 0.9Lead. This means that the calculation of the load level takes into account of the load Cos Phi, therefore it protects itself by an overloading due to leading loads. It could be nice to know if also Delphys or the others do the same. If not, we have a differentiator in terms of reliability and safety for the load and for the customer. However, we have the opportunity to present such a good feature directly to the customer. Note: If the load percentage is based on kVA only, a load in the P region (see figure) will not be treated as an overload. The UPS suffers a high risk of serious failures in these conditions. The new SG Series CE UPS calculates the Load Cos Phi. The boundary red line is recognized by the UPS as 100% load.
