STARFLEET Special OperationsCertification Training Documentation

Preface

Purpose

Starfleet Special Operations is a unique organization. It is a “purple suit” organizationcomprising all Fleet (SEALS, Rangers, Reconnaissance and Intelligence) Operativesalongside SFMC Special Operations units coming together to accomplish missions thatrequire a special breed of person.

This is not a group that just any person can be a part of.

Because of this, there is no place for an untrained member. Being Special Forces isabout training. All elite organizations have one thing in common, they are all highly trained, highly motivated and have a no failure mindset.

The adage of “the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in war ” applies tothose Special Operations members who are called upon to do the impossible with smallgroups. As with all special operations units it calls for the training that allows them tobelieve “the hard is common place and the impossible takes a bit longer.” Training issomething common to all special operations units and the more intense, the more likely themission will be accomplished.

The training program is designed to:1. To Train the operative to a high level of proficiency needed for Special Operations.2. To Encourage the Operatives to continue to rain, upgrade and maintain their high

standard of proficiency.3. To have a progressive path for Specialists and Operative grades.4. To provide specialties, both Basic and Advanced, for Operatives to better serve

and contribute to the overall mission success of their respective Chapters, ADU'sand MSG/MEU's; Regions and Brigades; Starfleet Special Operations and StarfleetMarines; Starfleet International and ultimately the United Federation of Planets

5. To most importantly have FUN!

Plan

•  To Develop an Advancement Training Plan

•  To Develop a training program which will include:

1) Multiple commandsa. Military Command – Is in charge of all military specific missions where their

training in intelligence gathering and espionage activities including the need of snipers, counter insurgency covert field intelligence and military fieldoperations in conjunctions with other military organizations. The SEALS,Rangers and Reconnaissance fall under this heading.

b. Intelligence Command – Is in charge of all other non-military intelligencegathering, research & development and Technology & Sciences of StarfleetSpecial Operations. For example James Bond, Maxwell Smart and/or Section 31would be prime examples of this command type.

2) Specialtya. In each of these commands are different types of specialties (both Basic and

Advanced). Specialists are experts in their occupation or branch of studyand/or research. They all Starfleet Special Operations to posses a higherstandard of expertise on almost any matter and bring it into play. Grade 1operatives must demonstrate they are truly interested in this carreer path and

the default specialty is Operative.b. At Grade 2 Operatives have chosen their path between Military and

Intelligence Commands. At this point they have begun the studies into makingthem the basic level person all crews rely upon. Once the operative havechosen their respective command they may become specialists in one of themany sections. Starfleet Special Operations personnel are generallyconsidered to be under the Security division on many Starships and Starbasesand are assigned to security details. Cross training in other security is highlyrecommended, because of the wide range of missions the operative may becalled upon to conduct. The areas that an operative often finds themselvescrosstrained in are Engineering, Operations, Medical and Sciences; and isactually actively encouraged.

3) Levels of Proficiency for continual traininga. All operatives require a basic knowledge of some subjects before continuing of

any training. All grades are progressive and you must advance through eachgrade level available before being promoted to the next highest grade. Eachgrade may/may not have multiple levels of training and the courserequirements from specific academies (SFA: http://acad.sfi.org and SFMCA(http://sfmca.sfi-sfmc.org) have been included into these levels.

b. At this point the training department would like to acknowledge the hardworkand dedication of the staff and students of the SFA and SFMCA for all thecourses offered by their respective academies.

Route of Advancement

The Route of Advancement Training Plan is a program for advancement of StarfleetSpecial Operations Operatives within Starfleet Special Operations. Being EXCLUSIVE toStarfleet Special Operations is it totally independent of any other promotion oradvancement structure in place within Starfleet International or any of its lesser bodies.

Starfleet Special Operations is a Fleet-level asset for the support of STARFLEETInternational. There is no such thing as a reserve operative, the person who choosesStarfleet Special Operations must be prepared and committed to the intense training and

strict requirements of that status. The requirements for a Grade 1 are the basics for any training. The

difference between Military and Intelligence Commands will be defined as training continues.

Grade 1 are entry level operatives who will have to complete the prescribed trainingprogram before becoming a Grade 2 Operative and choosing between Military orIntelligence Commands.

Grade 2 to Grade 7 is specialist assigned to either the Military or IntelligenceCommand; with Grade 2 being the entry level basic specialist all the way up to the Grade 7Directors of their respective Commands.

Explanation of Grades

 Notes

The requirements shown here are for both Military and intelligence Commands. Operatives in

either Command require a basic knowledge of some subjects before continuing Command type training. All grades are progressive and you must advance through the grade levels. This does not preclude the

operative from taking courses other than those prescribed further on in this document.

Each Grade may have multiple levels of training and the course requirements for specificacademies have been included into these levels.

At this point we in the Training department would like to acknowledge the work of members of

SFMCA for the courses chosen as courses of study for the levels in SFSO. Though not attached to SFMCthe SFSO sees the value of the material presented in these courses.

Commands

In SFSO Specialties are divided into 2 Commands

1) Military Command: is further divided into SEAL and Ranger and Recon

2) Intelligence Command

Definition of Commands: Special operations missions, due to its very nature, are varied. For this reason

the 2 commands have been established to cover these wide ranging needs.

Military Command (MC) is in charge of all military specific missions where their training in intelligence

gathering and Espionage activities including the need of Snipers, Counter insurgency Covert fieldintelligence and military field operations in conjunctions with other military organizations. Here is the place for SEALS, Green Berets, Rangers and Marine Recon.

Intelligence Command (IC) is in charge of all other non military intelligence gathering, research anddevelopment and technology of the SFSO. Here is the place for the aspiring James Bond or an operative

in section 31.

Specialists:

In each of these commands, there are different types of Specialties. Specialists are experts in their

occupation or branch of study or research. They allow SFSO to possess a higher standard of expertise on

almost any matter and bring it into play. Grade 1 operatives must demonstrate they are truly interested inthe carrier path and the default specialty is Operative.
