The undersi gned is directed to say that orders for revision of pension of pre-Zf 16pensioners/family pensioners by notional pay fixation in the 'J'h Central. Pay CommissionMatrix have been issued vide this Department's O.M. No.38/J7/2016·P&PW(A) dated12.05.2017. Subsequently, concordance tables for fixation of revised pay and pension!family pension of pre-20 16 pensioners/family pensioners have also been circulated videthis Department's O.M No. 38/37/20 16-P&,PW(A) dated 06.07.2017.

2. Attention of Ministries/Departments is invited to Para-Jf of this Department'sO.M. 38/37/20 16-P&PW(A) dated 12/05/2017 whercbv responsibility has been cast onHead of Department and Pay and ~ccounts Office attached to the office from whichth.!_Qovernrncnt servant had retired. or was working last before his death to revisethe pension/fanlily pension of pre-2.016 pensionersl family pensioners with effectfrom 01.01.2016

It has. however, come to the notice of this Department that the process ofrevision of pension/family pension or pre-Zf 16 pensioners/family pensioners has not yetbeen started by a large number of Min istriesIDepartments/Organizatio.l)s/Ofnces. lt hasalso been brought to the notice of tills Department that pensioners/family pensioners arebeing asked to make a. formal application for revision of their pension/family pension.The instructions issued by this Department do not provide for submission of applicationby individual pensioners/family pensioners for revision of pension/family pension.lYlinistries/Dcl\lartmclltsL_ctc. arf,._l}lcrcforc, once again rc_g_uested to suo motoproceed to;<nrbcess the revisioll ca~~s irnrnediately to avoid dcla.YLi!!__L~~lUlnr.e oCrev~~_g.J~POs of prc-2016 retirees.

This Department had issued orders for implementation ofrecomlnendations of 7th ere for revision of pension of pre-2016pensioners/ famiJy pensioners, vide this Department's O.Ms mentioned below:

(i.) O.M No.38/37/2016-P&PW(A) dated 12.05.2017(ii) O.M No.38/37/2016-P&[>W(A) dated 06.07.2017

2. This Department vide O.M of even No. dated 25.07.2017 has alsoemphasised upon all Ministries/Departments etc. to suo-moto proceed toprocess the revision cases immediately to avoid delays in issuance of revisedPPOs of pre-2016 retirees and also send the status of revised cases as on16.08.2017 in the prescribed proforma so as to reach this Department latest by31.08.2017.

3. However, it has again come to the notice of this Department that someMinistries/ Departments/Organizations are seeking applications from pre-20l6pensioners / family pensioners for revision of their pension or asking thesepensioners to provide additional information/ documents including PPO, proofof date of birth, date of retirement, name of bank and address etc for the purposeof processing their cases for revision of pension.
