Thank you for your donation of $60,00 to Dolores Street Community Services on 10/4-/2010. Your contributionhelps us carry out our mission of providing neighborhood-based shelter, housing. advocacy. and support forworking-poor men and formerly homeless people living with AIDS in San Francisco's Mission and CastroDistricts. Every day, Dolores Street offers dignity. health and hope to hundreds of people through a variety ofprograms.

The Dolores Housing Program operates th.ree small. safe and clean shelters in the Mission District especiallydesigned for newly-arrived homeless Latino working men. The program provides critical emergency services andcase management to over 1,000 men each year that enable them to gain self-sufficiency before homelessnessbecomes an entrenched way of life.

The Richard M. Cohen Residence. siruated in a Victorian cottage and carriage house reputed to be the secondoldest intact residence in San Francisco, is an award-winning state licensed facility for homeless men and womenliving with HIV/AlDS and mental illness and/or histories of substance abuse. The program is unique in providingtwenty-four hour medical care and social services in a non-institutional setting where residents truly feel at homeand part of a caring and healing community.

In addition to our shelter and housing programs, Dolores Street is the lead agency of two new advocacy programs.The San Francisco Im.migrant Legal &- Education Network is a multi-agency system for delivering free legalassistance and community education to the city's undepserved, low-income and most vulnerable immigrants. TheMission SRO Collaborative works to improve conditions in the neighborhoods residential hotels throughoutreach, educational workshops. services, and tenant organizing.

Finally, our administrative offices are available to neighborhood residents and community-based nonprofits formeetings and outreach services. The Valencia Community Center, as the space is referred to on evenings andweekends, has hosted numerous twelve-step groups. a medical clinic for street youth, immigration workshops, anee Ie exchange program, and has even been a polling station in recent years.
