Financial Measures to Reduce Risk
• Restricting D/E ratio: Reduces financial leverage, reduces threat of distress & bankruptcy
• Using derivatives: Lock in future input costs through forwards or futures contract
• Lowering operating leverage: More labourintensive production process, higher variable cost to fixed cost ratio, tie-in pay with performance
