AN ACT ESTABLISHING A MULTI-SPECIES MARINE HATCHERY IN THE MirNICIPALITY OF ALABAT, PROVINCE OF QUEZON AND APPROPRIA7TNG FUNDS THEREi OR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the Philippines in Congress assembled:

1 Section E There shall be established, under the supervision o f the

2 Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of the 1 department of Agriculture

3 (BFAR-DA), a multi-species marine hatchery in the Municipality of Alabet,

4 Province of Quezon.

5 Sec. 2. The BFAR-DA shall, within two (2) years after the

6 construction of the multi-species marine hatchery', transfer the management of

7 the same to the local government unit concerned through a memorandum of

8 agreement It shall implement a training and phasing-in program for local

9 government personnel on the management and operation of the hatchery.

10 Sec. 3. The Secretary of Agriculture shall include in the Department's

11 programs the establishment of the multi-species marine hatchery in the

12 Municipality of Alabat, Province of Quezon, the funding of which shall be

13 included in the annual General Appropriations Act The local government unit

14 concerned shall set aside funds from any available local revenue in an amount

13 deemed appropriate for the operationalization of the hatchciy.

1 Sec. 4. Within sixty (60) days from the passage o f this Act, the

2 Secretary o f Agriculture shall issue the rules and regulations on the

3 supervision, monitoring, transfer, or withdrawal by the BFAR o f the

4 multi-species marine hatchery,

5 Sec. 5. This Act shall take effect fiAeen (15) days after its publication

6 in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
