Take RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT AND FOCUSED ON THINGS WITHIN YOUR CONTROL RATHER THAN THINGS OUTSIDE YOUR CON-TROL.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Self-discover and clarify your deeply important character

values and life goals. Envision the ideal characteristics for

each of your various roles and relationships in life. What is

your definition of long-term

success? Ask: Where would you

like to be inyourcareer five

years from now? 2yearsfrom-

now? If yo can’t see that far

ahead, think short term 1 year/3

years from now.

Habit 3: Put First Things First:

Focus on your priorities. (This is easier said than

done, especially in age of distractions) You might get off track, but if you have identified your priorities, you know when you are off track and will be better able to get back on track.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win:

Be generous, share and celebrate. There is

plenty of business for everyone. Build your

karmic bank account. You don’t know who will step up and help you.Gen-

uinely strive for mutually beneficial solutions or agreements in your relation-

ships. Value and respect people by understanding a "win" for all is

ultimately a better long-term resolution than if only one person in

the situation had gotten his way.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand,

Then to Be Understood:

Learn to ask better questions and be fully present. Translation: no checking emails on handheld devices. Nobody like to be in a conversation when the other party is looking around to see who

else is around.

Habit 6: Syner-gize:

Build your team within your firm if you run you’re own practice delegate and get the right help. As smart as lawyers are some of them really do think they can get it all DONE. Absolutely they can but it will lead to burn out. That is for certain.

HABIT 7: SHARPEN THE SAW:

Balance and renew your resources, en-ergy, and health to create a sustainable, long-term, effective lifestyle. And learn

from the mistakes
