CHARCOAL MARKER
How does INK differ from Charcoal or Pencil?
It doesn’t BLEND
It’s hard to draw LIGHTLY
It doesn’t erase!
Our drawings this month with TEACH you how to draw 3D objects in INK!
Specifically crazy towers like these:
But first, we’re going to practice ourdrawing skills with ink (sharpies)!

READY!?
Coming soon…(I have to draw the examples step by step)
WEEK 2Let’s get started!
STEP 1Wavy line with eight hashmarks
STEP 2Add “bumps” to your line, connecting the hashmarks
STEP 2Extend vertical line up from #1, #3, and #5 bump
These lines can curve, bend, narrow and widen…but they cannot CROSS.
STEP 3Add more curved “bumps” between the vertical lines
The towers only look 3D if your lines CURVE into the vertical line. This is an ILLUSION.
STOP HERECheck your neighbor’s towers.
Do they look 3D?Do the lines cross?
Are the curves CURVY?
STOP HERESwitch to sharpie if you feel good about your progress
Carefully trace your pencil lines in sharpie. Continue the REST of your drawing in sharpie.
STEP 4Add the curved “bump” lines for towers #2, #4, and #6
Does you drawing look 3D???
STEP 5Turn your paper upside down and do the same thing!
Does you drawing look 3D???
STEP 6Add shading in the form of *hatching* to the valleys!
