2009

• Worked in Glyn Derw High School, Cardiff, Wales on a one on one basis with achild with behavioural issues as an employee of Cardiff Council.

• Volunteered at Cancer Research UK located in Port Talbot, South Wales.

2008

• Moved to Canada on a one year visa, staying for eight months, settling for the

most part in Vancouver though travelled around much of North America. Worked

in a wide variety of jobs including; trainee chef, construction worker, bar man and

landscaper.

• Worked in two primary schools, three days a week in St Monica’s Church in

Wales Primary and one day a week at Cwrt-yr-Ala Junior school. Worked on a

one on one basis with a child with an autistic spectrum disorder whilst at St

Monica’s. Was responsible for his welfare throughout the day. My main job inCwrt-yr-Ala was to monitor selected children’s progress in reading.

2007-08

• Worked as a Teaching Assistant in Glyn Derw High School. Responsibilities

included motivating targeted pupils in their transition from KS2 to KS3 to carry

out their tasks in cooperation with subject teachers in the classroom and workingindependently with small groups of pupils on their literacy and numeracy,

• Studied a once weekly night class in Welsh at Cathays High School.

• Worked at Glyn Derw High School ‘Summer School’ assisting in film production

and sports activities for children of the ages 8-15.
