Set your gradebook preferences.

1. Select the class. The gradebook view appears.

2. Select Settings in the left side menu.

3. Click the drop down buttons to see the options.4. Click Submit to record any changes.

5. Click the Grade Settings tab.6. Select the grade scale.

7. Scroll down to Assignment Categories. 8. Add categories and assign weights. Change other options if needed and click Save

Settings.

Create and save an assignment to the gradebook.

1. Select Gradebook in the left sidebar.2. Click the New Assignment button.

3. Name the assignment4. Put in the number of possible points.5. Click the Due Date box and select a date from the calendar. Students and parents will see

these entries.6. Click the Save Assignment button.

7. Repeat directions 3-6 to create a new assignment.

8. Click the More Options button.

9. Click the Choose Students button.

10. Click the blue arrow to reveal class list.11. Click the box to the left of the student’s name to add to the group. 12. Click the Save Group checkbox.13. Create a Group Name.14. Click the Choose Students button.

15. Select Standard Set by choosing from the dropdown menu.

16. Click the Tag Standards button. A new window will open.

17. Select the standards by clicking on the arrows to the left of the categories and standards to open folders further.

18. Check the box to the left of each standard you would like to tag.19. Search for standards by typing a word into the box at the bottom right of the window.20. Click the Submit button.

21. Add a description of the assignment for students and parents to see.

22. Click the Attach dropdown arrow and select Upload New File to locate resources saved to your computer, flash drive, etc.

23. Click the Copy to Classes dropdown to select a course. The assignment will be copied to the course selected.

24. Click Add From Repository to add resources created or purchased by BCPS.25. Click the green Add Materials button.

26. Click the Save Assignment button if not recording student scores at this time.

27. Click on the assignment to input student scores.

28. Enter a value in the Out of (optional box) to generate a percentage score.29. Enter scores. In addition, use the following:

a. (Blank) – Blank spaces are not calculated in the average. Parents and students may think they represent missing assignments.

b. E for excused – These are not calculated in the average. Use an E for assignments that are unscored or does not need to be turned in.

c. M for missing – Use the M when the student still needs to turn the assignment in for a grade. M is calculated as 0% in the average calculation.

30. Use the Copy to All button to copy the score in the first student’s box to the rest of the students. Then edit individual scores.

31. Add a comment to scores by hitting the space bar one time after the score and typing the comment. The score and comment can be viewed by the student and parent.

32. Click the Save Assignment button.

Access BCPS curriculum (Course Maps) 1. Select the class. The gradebook for the class appears.

2. Select the Course Maps button in the left sidebar.

3. Select the Course Map to view.

4. Select “Overview” next to the unit you want to view.

5. You will now see the Unit Overview.

6. Hover over the Overview button to access the Standards, and Hierarchy for the unit.

7. Select Hierarchy from the drop down button to view the lesson plan and digital resources.

Assign content to students.1. Select the Lessons button in the left sidebar.2. Click the Add Activities tile on the day of the week.

3. Make sure the box to the left of All Students in Class is checked.4. Click the Choose Activities button.

5. Select a content tile.

6. Select the material(s).

7. Select View to preview content before assigning to students. 8. Select Add Items.

9. If more than one activity is selected, you may schedule the activities using the Sequence dropdown menu.

10. Select the Students button in the left sidebar.11. Select the Groups tab.12. Click Edit Groups.

13. Click the Add Group button.

14. Select a Performance Indicator or use All Students.15. Expand the bracket and check the boxes in front of the names of students to include in the

group16. Give the group a name and click Save Group.

Note: Groups and group names are not visible to students and parents.

17. Groups can be edited or deleted from the Edit Groups page by using the Settings icon.

18. Hover over the activity tile. 19. Select the number of views.

20. Select copy, edit and drop to see all available options. 21. Hover over the View button.

22. Select Month View.23. Hover over the Options button. 24. Select Student Progress.

25. Use the buttons at the top to filter the grid further (groups, date, all publishers).

Guide a student tour.

E. Understanding the Student Experience Students will be accessing their accounts through the district’s Active Directory.

Usernames and passwords are distributed by the district. Students will have access to material as soon as it is assigned by their teacher.

1. Student Landing Page- This is the page students will see when they log into BCPSOne Students can see their assigned classes, teacher’s names, and current class grade from the Landing Page.

2. Class Grades- Students can see grades placed into the BCPSOne system by teachers. The grades displayed are for the specific class that the student has selected.

3. Lesson Tiles- Students can see the resources assigned by the teacher. The content displayed is for the specific class the student has selected. Students should not need to log into the resources since they have logged into BCPSOne with their Active Directory username and password.
