Introduction:Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Pune was established in 1977 under the illustrious banner of SymbiosisSociety. Since 2002, it has been a constituent of Symbiosis International University which is accreditedby NAAC with A grade. SLS Pune was ranked 4th by India Today- Nielsenin 2012 amongst the topten Law Schools in India. This stature is attained through its various programs such as B.A., L.L.B,

B.B.A., L.L.B, Master of Laws (L.L.M.) with five specializations, sixteen different Diploma programsand nineteen certificate programs.

The curriculum and pedagogy are designed around the latest quality initiatives in legal educationincluding recommendations of the Carnegie Report, USA combining skill, knowledge and values whichare imparted through multitalented, competent and enthusiastic faculty. Their efforts are reciprocatedby the participation of all the stakeholders including the members of the bar and bench, corporatesector and international experts. Impressive international collaborations across UK, US and Europehave brought in the membership of International Association of Law Schools, USA and the Asian LawInstitute, Singapore. SLS is the only Indian partner with the Erasmus Mundus global consortium ofLaw Schools. Since 2008, DAAD, Germany has been preferring SLS for funding the members offaculty and students for research and exchange programs through the New Passage to IndiaProgram with Leibniz University, Hanover and Brunswick European Law School, Ostfalia University ofApplied Sciences, Wolfenbuttel, Germany. Since 2012, SLS Pune has also been a part of OntarioMaharashtra Goa (OMG) Exchange Program.

Students can avail of scholarships such as the SC/ST top class education scholarships from theGovernment of India, State Merit Scholarships and others. They obtain support, attention andmotivation through the mentor system. The institute continues with its commitment to the cause ofstudent support and progression. SLS strongly emphasizes research and publication through variousresearch projects and law journals which are being published in collaboration with LexisNexis wherestudents contribute significantly. The SLS Pune moot team was one of the four teams that representedIndia for the Philip Jessup Moot in 2009 at Washington, USA.
