Key TermsStatutory Service – Exists because of Parliament has passed a law to say that the service either must or can be provided.
Private Provision – Owned by an individual person or a company and aims to make a profit.
Independent Schools – Run independently of the Government and do not receive Government funding, sometimes referred to as ‘ private schools’
Voluntary Provision – Run by organisations such as charities and committees, does not make a profit
