  • Dylan and Sidney will be announcing some service announcements for all of you over the holiday to get service hours. And now here is Hannah Kerley with a speech on service and her club Blanket Blessings which she has been running for three years now.

  • Operation Christmas Child This operation is used to pack a shoebox for other less fortunate children in Africa, Haiti, etc. You can pack a shoebox with simple gifts such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items (non liquid), accessories, or a personal note. NJHS Wiki will have a link to their website for instructions and directions to everything.

  • Elderly Homes Find an elderly home in Charlotte and you can easily contact the volunteer coordinator to volunteer. Legacy Heights across from Stonecrest offers kids our age to participate in Sing-A-Longs, Bingo, etc. Also look on the NJHS Wiki for a list of local homes and phone numbers.

  • Morrison YMCA Teen Volunteers (12 to 17 years old) Must complete all Volunteer responsibilities while under the supervision of a YMCA staff person May not serve in a Volunteer capacity for more than 4 hours in one day without a valid workers permit Must complete the Volunteer process prior to beginning Volunteer work, including: Review and completion of Volunteer Handbook and Application Completion of YMCA online trainings for Volunteers Attend Volunteer Orientation Orientations are typically the 3rd Wednesday of each month.   • Feeding The Homeless Feed 150 people dinner, hand out clothing and toiletries, and goody bags as they leave the shelter. Every second Thursday night from around 5:45- 7:15pm. Downtown at 618 N College Street.

  • Second Harvest Food Bank Minimum age of 12 years old with adult, or one adult for a group of every 6 teenagers 13 - 16 years of age. Youth volunteers can schedule for Saturday morning shifts or Thursday evening shifts. Saturday and Thursday shifts are every week/weekend. Will be asked to sort, inspect, box, and stock donations for the agencies. Closed toed shoes required.
