LITURGY CORNERToday we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany - thecoming of the Wise Men (the 3 Kings) to visit the newbaby Jesus. (Just a little trivia, the King’s names are:Balthasar, Gaspar and Melchior). This is the day,

traditionally, that doorways of houses are blessed. I offer thefollowing prayer so that you may bless your home.

God of Bethlehem and Cana God of Jordan’s leaping waters, in baptism you bring us into your family. You wed us and embraced us as your beloved. May we fill this place with kindness to one another with hospitality to our guests, and with abundant care for every stranger. By the gentle light of a star, guide home all who seek you on paths of faith, hope and love. Then we will join the angels in proclaiming your praise: Glory in heaven and peace on earth, now and forever. AmenA person told me about a story that if you hang your first 3Kings Christmas card each year above the door and leave itthere, you will never want for money. This person said thatthey do it every year and now have multiple cards hanging overtheir door. Surprisingly enough, they said that each timefinances got tight, someone or something came along to helpthem out. (Almost a little like tithing) They’ve grown to believeit is the 3 Kings! So, you might want to hang up your card fromthis year if you have one. I know I will! May the gift of the 3Kings and the newborn Savior enrich your heart and your lifethis day, and always. Happy Epiphany! Lisa

FAITH AT HOME “If you don’t have time to pray, you don’t havetime for anything”. Our fast-lane mentality is adeterrent to active prayer lives. But we can learn to

combine prayer and work. This may seem a surprisingcombination. Prayer is often pictured as a kneeling activity. However, if we wait for knee time, we’ll rarely connect withGod. St. Benedict taught his monks to always be at prayer, tosee every action as an opportunity to talk to God. Does Godwant us to keep the conversation going while driving the car- pool, walking the grocery aisles and stirring soup? YES! Enjoy your week and Happy New Year! Lisa

OPERATION SHOEBOXLisa Longo, one of our parishioners and a memberof Girl Scout Troop 570, is participating in a serviceproject for Operation Shoebox. They are collecting

A box for donations will be in the Academy foyer. As always, your generosity is appreciated. Thank you from Troop 570
