Introduction

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet

we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he wascrushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that

brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

Hosea 6:2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will

raise us up, that we may live before him.

John 2:18 So the Jews said to him, "What sign do you show us for

doing these things?"John 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three

days I will raise it up."

John 2:20 The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to buildthis temple, and will you raise it up in three days?"

John 2:21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

The Gospels record eyewitness accounts of the resurrection. People

who claimed they met the risen Lord!

Matthew 28:1-7

He was seen by more than 500 people at one time!

1Cor 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

1Cor 15:6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at onetime, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.

Paul did only make a case to verify the truth of the resurrection but he

also shows how the resurrection benefits those who believe.

Raised for our salvation

1Cr 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile andyou are still in your sins.

1 Corinthians 15:21 For as by a man came death, by a man has comealso the resurrection of the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall allbe made alive.

Without the resurrection there is no way for people to be saved fromtheir sins.

Romans 4:25 who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for

our justification.

Matthew11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I

will give you rest

Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hasanointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to

proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to

set at liberty those who are oppressed,

Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus isLord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you

will be saved.

Raised for our Hope

1Corinthians 15:19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are

of all people most to be pitied.

John 20:11-18

It's a living Hope!

1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to aliving hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

ClosingWhat will you do with the evidence for the resurrection today?

Will you take the step of faith? Look at the evidence and then believe

that Christ died for your sins and was raised for your salvation and

hope.

How to Have Eternal Life

Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and

with the mouth one confesses and is saved.Romans 10:11 For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in himwill not be put to shame."
