DESCRIPTION

King Ahab had to prepare before the rain caught up with him

TRANSCRIPT

  • ...say unto Ahab,Prepare thy chariot, andget thee down, that therain stop thee not. (1Kings 18: 44).That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of JoyDevotional today.

When Elijah saw that itwas about to rain, headvised Ahab to get ready and move beforethe rain stops him. Therain was an answer to the prayers and wishesof everyone in Israel. The rain was a longawaited blessing. So,Elijah simply advisedAhab to move and change location beforeother peoples blessingsstop him.

Friend, if you dont move, the rain might stop you. If you dont make timely movements in life, people will receive blessings, and those blessings may backfire on you. If you dont take timely steps in your career or business, or improve your skills and abilities, other people will stumble into God-given opportunities, and their prosperity maycome at your expense.

The steps you fail totake will make youvulnerable, and takeyou closer to stagnation. The changes you shouldmake that you fail to make will turn the tablesagainst you when otherpeople start reapingtheir harvest. It may beconvenient to make nomovement, but that convenience will befollowed by theinconvenience of gettingstuck at the wrong spotin life.

Guess what? If Ahab gotstuck in the rain, theentire nation would stillenjoy the rain from thecomfort of their homes, and he would have suffered alone.Your failure to move wont stop others fromenjoying their rain. The rain won't be postponed because you haven't moved. Dont sit back and allow other peoples blessings to stop you. Take timely steps; move when you should.

Ephesians 5 vs. 15 advises: See then thatye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,Pray With Me: Lord, Ichoose to move; otherpeoples blessings will

  • not stop me, in Jesusname!
