DryingSeries WU inks have been formulated to meet thedrying speci�cation at printing speed upto 20 sqm/ hr

The actual drying speed will depend on a number offactors. These include: ink thickness, substrat e choice andthe print speed.

Colour and Outdoor Durability

Chemical and Abrasion ResistanceSeries WU inks have greater alcohol/petrol chemicaland abrasion resist ance than the OEM inks. Howev er, foroptimum resistance it is recommended to over- varnishusing a suitable varnish or laminat e prints .

PlasticsCertain plastics may be impre gnat ed with lubricants ,which may impair adhesion and block resistance even aconsiderable period of time after printing .

It is normal for banner grade PVC to be highly plasticised,which over time migrat es to the sur face , signif icantlyreducing the ink adhesion level . This problem can beovercome by wiping the sur face with white spirit beforeprinting .

Certain plastics can become brittle when printed , possiblyto the point of shattering , often only after severa l weeks .It is ther efore essential to check comp atibility betweenink and plastic to guard against this problem.

Stor ageSeries WU inks should not be stored in direct sunlightor near warm pipes and should be kept awa y frompero xides . In the interest of maximum shelf-life, storagetemp eratur es should be between 5 and 30ºC. If storedunder these conditions the inks are expec ted to have ashelf-lif e of 12 months from the date of manufacture .

Series WU

These inks have successfully passed 600 hrs testingunder ASTM G53 test speci�cation, using UVB-313 lamps in a QUV Weather-O-Meter. This is estimated to be e quivalent to six months outdoor durability. However, the outdoor durability of a print depends on many other factors like, the quality of substrate w.r.t out door durability, printing conditions like ink limit and the very image itself. Ink limit below 100% of any one colour can also a�ect the out door durability. Hence, it is essent ial to maintain at least 360% to 400% of aggregate ink lim it and also 100% of individual ink limit to expect six month outdoor durability. Also, it is expected that there will al ways be gloss reduction when prints are exposed to out door weather and hence, this is not considered as loss of durabi lity.
