We have visited up here annually and each year we sit and think of the changes ahead; cooler weather, the time to get wood cut to heat the house, holidays coming before we know it, and sports seasons. This year, there are more unknowns that usual due to COVID. Will we have trick or treating? Will our family be able to get together for the holidays? Will we be able to attend mass for Christmas? So many things outside our circle of control this year. However, I look at my Catholic planner and see the feast days and holidays coming, the opportunities to grow in community on our parish campus, and the unknown blessings that will continue to come each day we are in person at school. IN Back on Track- Staying at 4.5 per Governor

This week the governor spoke about the continued progress of Indiana’s Back on Track plan. He stated we would be staying on level 4.5 as a state. Masks are still required in public area; The Ft. Wayne/South Bend diocese Superintendent fully supports the wearing of masks. We will continue with the Back to School plan of students in grades 3-8, and staff wearing masks. Students are not mandated to wear them when at recess and in gym class, when they are in strenuous activity. There are also other opportunities for students to take off their masks, and the teachers did a great job helping students understand when these times are presented.

What to do if you have a child with symptoms…

The CDC has provided us with the most up to date procedures, and I am sure you have heard the updates as of Tuesday afternoon. Please remember, we are all doing our part in trying to keep the kids healthy and in school. Your responsibility still remains to check daily for symptoms, and take your child’s temperature daily before sending them to school. The symptoms they are guiding us to be aware of are the following:

- 100.4 degree temperature or higher - Sore throat - New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty

breathing (a change in cough from baseline) - Diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain - New onset of sever headache, especially with fever - Loss of taste or smell

If your child has one or more of these symptoms, please be diligent in keeping your child home, and call the school to walk through the next steps.

Update on Finalizing FACTS Payment Plans

There has been a lot of confusion with FACTS’ wording on the parent dashboard. If you had a payment plan set up last year, your information was forwarded to an account for this school year. However, you must still choose your payment plan and verify your bank information before I can finalize your plan. The 2-payment option is no longer available, as the plans needed to be finalized before the end of august. There is still a monthly payment plan option available. If you have any questions regarding choosing your payment plan, please contact a FACTS customer service agent. I will be reaching out to families next week if you have not completed your FACTS payment plan account, or if you have not paid in full to the school. I am happy to help, please reach out if needed.
