We seek to be an authentic Christlike community, on a journey together, sharing God’s love with everyone.
September 30th 2018
Across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, TEAR Australia enables people to overcome poverty by equipping them to lead their own development initiatives. We do this in partnership with local Christian development organisations, support-ing them as they walk alongside the poorest and most marginalised people in their communities.
By working in partner-ship, TEAR Australia is a catalyst for extraordinary change.
WELCOME TO STEVE MCKINNON FROM TEAR !

Making Christmas Decorations
On Sunday 16th Dec we will be making Christmas tree decorations in the 10am service. We need some crea-tive people who will demonstrate and assist others, young and old, to make a decoration of your choice.
We need to be able to make each decoration in about 15 minutes. So find your favourite tree decoration and let Trevor know you can help.
PURE
In the midst of following the lectionary from Mark a few weeks ago we looked at Mark 7:1-15 when Jesus was attacked by the Phari-sees for not making his disciples wash their hands before they ate. They accused him of not living according to the traditions of Israel.
Israel had a very strict purity code part, of which had been given by God, and part of which they had developed themselves. I got to thinking, do we have purity codes in our society and what impact do they have on us. As I looked into this more I realised we have highly developed purity codes. At basic levels our code tells us we should have dirt outside our houses. but not inside. Your foot mat at your front door is part of keeping dirt in the designated area. Some people ask you to take your shoes off before entering their house. But there are lots of other aspects to our purity codes which control life and the people we associate with and those we do not.
In October we will have a three week series called “PURE”. It isn’t about making us perfectly pure people who don’t want to get a spot on our lives. It’s about wondering why we accept some things/people, and rule out other things/people, and trying to un-derstand what Jesus says to us.
